Lunch in hand, Selena and I start walking to the bleachers when Greg and Lucas catch up to us and the four of us walk together the rest of the way. Jen and Chase are already sat up in the bleachers as we arrived. Lucas helped Selena up with her food and Chase came down to help with mine and we went and joined Jen and enjoy our lunch together.

We joked around and had a good time just as we should do at our age because with this being our senior year we only have a short time together like this before we go our separate ways for college. Speaking of college, we all talked about where we have applied for and where we hope to go. Lucas has had a couple of calls from college scouts and Chase said he has had the same but the one he is hoping to hear from he has not just yet. Jen said she is wanting to do a couple of years in one college and then go to Harvard to study law as that is where she feels more passionate, and she gets to be part of the family business in some way or another. Greg said he's thinking about either Stanford or Penn as they have some good computer programming programs but he's unsure which one is best suited for him. Selena surprised me the most she said she's planning on going to University of Texas to study business. I never knew she had an interest in business I wish she would have told me or at least told Chase as he's wanting to study the same.

Lunch was coming to an end, so we cleaned up our mess and started walking back toward the main building to get what we need for our afternoon lessons. Now it's time for one of my favorite lessons of the day. Music. As soon as class started Mrs. McIntyre made a surprising announcement. The entire music department is putting on an end of year concert, and every senior must participate in one way or another.

Jen and Selena said to me that I should sing at the concert. I wasn't sure if I should or not. But if I did, what would I perform? That is something for me to think about and me alone. Don't get me wrong I love the idea of the concert but me performing? I could do something else. Like a backstage hand or something like that I don't always have to be on stage performing. At the end of music Mrs. McIntyre asked if she could have a quick word with me. I wonder what it could be about? More than likely it's about the concert.

"Savannah, I wanted to grab a quick word with you to talk about the concert," Mrs. McIntyre says.

"Of course, what would you like to talk about?" I ask her.

"I received some news that someone from Berkeley, Wake Forest, and Juilliard will be attending the concert. I was hoping that you could be the finale performance and show them what you can do." Is she kidding me? Even Juilliard is coming? I can't believe it that's three colleges well known for their programs. I can't say no to performing now, can I?

"To be honest with you Miss, I was thinking about maybe doing something else at the concert like being a stagehand or something. But now that you have told me this, I would be honored to perform but could I make a little surprise suggestion?" She nods and I go through my idea I have.

"Wow, I was not expecting to hear that, but I will consider it. If it works out as you describe it, then absolutely. But Mrs. Penny and I must be in attendance for rehearsals at school to see for ourselves and then give you a final answer." I agree to her terms but now I just need to have a chance to speak and ask Chase if he would do this with me and do it for me.

School is finally over for the day, and I am ready to head off to work and earn some money and work hard. The girls and I managed to get in a small handful of shifts at the cafe after school for the next couple of weeks. Selena and I drive to work together, and Jen arranged to meet us there as she needed to go somewhere first before starting her shift. I wasn't going to ask where she had to go first. As I know if it was important to her, she would have told us. I trust her judgement; I just hope it's nothing too serious.
