I would be lying if I said I didn't try,
didn't search for new hands to hold,
didn't chase new names, new faces,
hoping one might feel like home.
I tried to close the chapter,
turn the page,
burn the book if I had to—
but the universe had other plans.
Lesson after lesson,
love that almost was,
hearts that never quite fit mine,
each one whispering your name in the end.
It's not that I can't move on,
it's that I don't want to.
I could have anyone else,
but all I want is you.
And maybe that's fate,
or maybe it's just the way love works—
bringing us back,
no matter how far we run.
