(The scene opens to show several quick shots of Denver's roads and streets before finally focusing on Logan's house. The empty living room is shown as it's about 7 a.m. in the morning. Just then, Danny walks in through the front door dressed in an orange jersey and black sweatpants while wearing his blue and black backpack. He closes the door [applause track])
Danny: Finally, I'm getting the recognition I've always deserved. (singing) Go, Danny! It's your birthday [laugh track]. (He drops his bag on the couch and calls out) Jesse Michael! Mr Logan?! Miss T?! (He pauses before calling again in a similar manner to a wolf howl) Oh, Liam?!
Jesse: (runs out of the kitchen with a packed plate of sandwiches) I don't care if I'm not 5 anymore, that title is meant for me and my voice only [laugh track]. (He does a bro hug with Danny) Happy Birthday, Danny!
Danny: Thanks, Carmichael. I really appreciate it.
Jesse: You're welcome. And no one calls me Carmichael.
Allison: (walking in through the front door with a messenger bag) Hey, Carmichael! Right? I can't remember your last name [brief laugh track]. (Jesse rolls his eyes). Where's Logan?
Jesse: He's making some last-minute scripts right after Danny's game today.
Tracy: (brushing her hair as she walks out of the kitchen) Man, I still don't get why they'd fix your game on the same day as your birthday. (He smiles smugly) That's right. I remembered your game and your birthday at the same time.
Danny: It's about time everyone remembered my birthday. It took y'all over 90 scenarios and a few annual intervals to do so [laugh track]
Allison: (clearly confused) What is he talking about?
Tracy: In Danny English, we're douchebags. (To Danny and Jesse) You better start going to school. We have a series to shoot, and after that, we'll come for your game later this evening. Best of luck! (She leaves the house with Allison. Danny looks at Jesse with a worried look on his face)
Danny: Why will she wish me the best of luck? I don't play on luck; I use my super reflex rocket skills. Now, I'm confused.
Jesse: You're confused? Cause I need clarity that you're trying to say you have mad rocket science skills. Emphasis on "mad" [brief laugh track]
Danny: (nudges Jesse) Now's not the time. You need to help me. (stares maniacally) You can see the future! Do I win? Do I lose? (He vigorously shakes Jesse's shoulders like a mad person) I need answers, Carmichael! [laugh track]
Jesse: Maybe when you stop acting like that popular snitch when she can't find her purse, then you'll realize you got this.
Danny: Jesse, she has a name. It's Forrester. And you should talk things out with her. It will end the negativity quicker.
Jesse: (stares in "My best friend has lost his mind") Is today "Call everyone by their last names" day, and I wasn't informed? I better get prepared then. (He walks out the door, leaving Danny inside. Danny just facepalms himself in frustration)
Danny: Really? That's what you got from my advice?! (Danny walks out, locks the door behind him, and rushes to meet Jesse) I was referring to Kelsea!
Jesse: (offscreen) That's not a last name, Porter! [laugh track]

The scene changes to Clarkson High later that evening, at about 4 p.m. The large green grassy field is mostly filled with orange conjoined seats similar to a stadium, but as per school basis, they are only one side of the field. Slowly but steadily, in a similar fashion to a montage, people start to show up and fill them one after the other. Soon enough, the camera focuses on Jesse, Rudra, Kelsea, Harleen, Yariel, Sunny, Hudson, and Sigourney are all sitting individual seats, yet two different groups, among the students' section. In other words, Yariel, Sunny, Sigourney, and Hudson are sitting behind Rudra, Jesse, Kelsea, and Harleen. As for Logan, Tracy, Nigel, and Madison, they're sitting with the parents and guardians. Suddenly, the whistle is heard, implying that the game has started already.
Tracy: (ending a phone call) OK, Danny's parents will be here any minute.
Logan: You know, I always knew Danny's wild Western behaviour would be worth something. Aside from almost blowing up my microwave several times [brief laugh track]
Madison: In the words of Danny, I feel mildly encouraged [another laugh track]
Nigel: Logan's kinda right. Sunny's a Math whiz, Danny's the athletic one, and we haven't found out what good thing Harrison can use his mayhem for [laugh track]
Everyone: (murmuring in agreement) True.
(Meanwhile, the focus is back on the teens. Jesse and Yariel's seats are empty, unlike the others. Just then, Jesse returns back to his seat with a large bag filled with packed hamburgers for himself and his friends).
Jesse: (sitting down and sharing the burgers among them) Sorry I'm late. I had to give the players my autograph. That's what happens when you're a famous friend to a jock teammate.
Rudra: Wow, Jesse, you sound like the guy version of a diva. (sarcastic) A divine being [laugh track]
Jesse: Well, I was trying to cosplay an actual diva. (He turns to Kelsea and grins) Hi, Forrester?
Kelsea: (rolls her eyes) Jesse, you're a great actor already. Don't be a snob.
Jesse: Of course I am. (sneers) The snob part sounds more like you.
Hudson: Yo, Jesse, that's my girlfriend, you know?
Jesse: I'm not Danny. I will wreck you up to oblivion [laugh track]
Harleen: OK, should I be worried? What's with you and Kelsea this past week?
Kelsea: (searching the bag) And where's my burger? I thought you bought eight.
Jesse: I did. I kept one for Danny for when the game's over, instead of buying it later, cause that's what a good friend. With your paycheck, you can afford all eight, yet here we are.
Sunny: You really are my brother's best friend. Although, he ate a 2-day ramen directly from the fridge last week [laugh track]
Kelsea: Number one rule of snacks is that we should never keep them away from whoever got them.
Jesse: The same works for film production. (Kelsea looks confused while Yariel bats an eyebrow)
Yariel: Wait, what's going on?
Sigourney: This beef is getting hot. And I'm not talking about the one in the hamburger [brief laugh track]
Jesse: Rudra, remember when we wanted to attend Sigourney's party without Liam and Tracy knowing about it? Yeah, the beat down car wasn't the reason. Kelsea did it.
Sunny: Kelsea ruined the car? What did Danny do to you?
Hudson: Kelsea, did you sabotage your ride to the party?
Kelsea: (exhales) I didn't. But I snitched on Jesse attending when he wasn't supposed to, just because I needed a major paycheck, which he would've gotten as the main lead. (There's silence among their friends) [gasp track]
Sigourney: And when I asked you later that evening at my birthday party, you said Jesse fell ill.
Jesse: And why am I not surprised that you went? Cause thanks to me being grounded, Kelsea got upgraded to the lead instead of me.
Hudson: (to Kelsea) Dude, that's messed up.
Kelsea: Hudson, I didn't mean to. (To Jesse) Jesse, I'm sorry I did that. But I worked way too hard for that role. And you suddenly took it.
Rudra: I'm really disappointed. You took petty to the next level.
Jesse: Honestly, Kelsea, I just wish that ball would hit you. (Almost immediately, the ball flies towards their direction and hits, well, Yariel, with so much force. It hits him on his right shoulder before falling to Kelsea's hands)
Yariel: (in pain) OWW! MY ARM!! [brief laugh track]
Jesse: (stands up and yells) DANNY!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO AIM AT KELSEA, YOU DUMB JOCK! [laugh track]
Kelsea: (gasps in anger) Excuse me?! Are you that desperate?
Jesse: (grabs the ball) Yeah, I'm that desperate for you to get hurt right in your bones, like you did with me!
Kelsea: You know what? I don't care. I'm throwing back the ball, and I'll leave! (She snatches the ball, but Jesse holds it firmly)
Jesse: He's my best friend, I should pass it back! [laugh track]
(The two start arguing and struggling to take the ball from the other)
Danny: (calling out from the field) JUST TOSS IT BACK!
Jesse/Kelsea: SHUT IT, DANIEL! (Kelsea angrily throws the ball with so much strength that it actually whacks Danny in the face, and he passes out, falling to the floor immediately. Everyone gasps in horror and stands up simultaneously. Danny's teammates start to rush towards him to attend to him. On the other hand, Jesse and Kelsea are frozen in both fear and shock)
Jesse/Kelsea: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY FRIEND, YOU JERK!
Sunny: That's my brother, you MORONS! (Jesse, Kelsea, and Sunny leave their seats and quickly rush to Danny, who's been taken from the field on a stretcher. In the parents' side, Logan, Tracy, Madison, and Nigel are worried about what they just witnessed)
Madison: Tracy? Logan? How do you tell someone's mom that her son was used as a knockout lab rat in a knockout tryout football game? [laugh track]
Logan: Yeah, she's gonna kill whoever threw that ball back.
Kelsea: She's gonna kill Jesse for throwing the ball like that.
Jesse: Now's not the time, Forrester. We have to help Danny. (The three reach Danny, who's groaning and holding his severely bruised forehead in pain)
Danny: Carmichael? (breathing heavily) I don't feel well. I can see the light!
Jesse: Bro, do not walk into the light. That's a code white! Do not do that, Daniel! [laugh track]
Danny: No, seriously, why would they leave me under a literal spotlight? (There is a light stand right above him, and the school paramedics move his stretcher away from it [laugh track]. Danny starts feeling woozy, and his vision becomes a blur, although he can hear Kelsea and Jesse arguing). You imbeciles! Stop making this about yourselves! (Groaning) Dude, I really wish I left you after that Crazy Kids movie premiere!
Kelsea: (faintly and almost distorted) Danny?! Danny, wake up!
Sunny: DANNY!!! (Danny completely passes out and everywhere turns pitch black)
