Sun grows even more unimpressed by all these adults who think they know best and is ready to grow rabid when he hears a very disliked name again

Dream thought it was a miracle that he managed to get the hatchling to sleep and not just continue to try and rip his face off, the tiny creature looking oddly sweet when they were asleep. He gently brushed his fingers against their tail as he held them, gently removing some of the dead scales and tutted at the clear signs of neglect.
His hand drifted to the odd cloth around the child's neck, noticing the rather shiny items attached to the brown material that looked like something the two legged like to wear. Perhaps the child had gotten them when one of the ships sank to the seabed as it had been happening rather often lately.
He could feel a lot of fear and anger whenever he got too close to the coast which corresponded to the previous times such a thing happened before, guessing another 'war' was occuring as Ink liked to say.
It was a rather annoying time for most of the Leviathans but it helped them from getting bored, at least with all the humans invading their territories it was easier to hide that a few thousand humans were suddenly 'missing'.
That they were missing one of their own also stressed them all out despite it only being a few decades since they last saw their last member. No one could find a trace of them and their brother was in hysterics as they blamed themselves for it due to a fight that got out of control but none were truly panicked just yet as Leviathan were pretty hardy.
Dream still missed the quieter days when they didn't have to worry about such things but it seems humans were becoming far more advance and clever then they had all realised, it still painful to think about the wounds Nightmare sustained that day. Even if only light scars remained it was far too close a call for any of their liking.
None of them wanted that direct sort of attention and Ink's interest in the upper world paid off as they informed them all in an uncharacteristic serious tone about 'scientists' and 'researchers' who would be very interested in their kind.
He hadn't truly understood until Error pointed out how the numbers of Mer's had dipped over the last years and how the ones he happened to pass had odd bands around their tails, it not hard to link the cause and another reason why the truce had been implemented as none of them truly wanted to deal with the humans anymore then they had to.
He didn't see any such item on the hatchling but considering how pitiful their tail looked he would hardly be shocked if the guppy had ripped it off in panic and done more damage to themselves in the process, the most likely explanation for their entire situation.
He wasnt shocked they were so aggressive then if thats all they had known, the poor thing probably relying on their instincts to survive, their erratic actions suddenly making so much more sense. He increased his magic output as he swam when he felt the small body shiver, hoping they would get to Ink in time to help.

Sun had no clue what was happening sadly a rather common theme of his life but he despised it with a passion and wasn't afraid to show it, hissing and spitting when the tentacles from Ink what was up with this messed up place?! Surely there had to be one place where he wouldn't bump into these lot curled around his tail and the rest of his body, annoyed they were ignoring how he was gnawing the closest one to make them let go.
He had no clue what the adults had assumed now a common thing he found to his growing annoyance but somehow this led him to getting checked over by an Ink of all things and his eyes promised more violence when he saw the Error floating nearby. There was also far too much pity in the area for his liking, not sure what the big deal was and just wanting to be left alone.
"Huh, I've never seen such an aggressive guppy before. They usually cower away when im near. What an interesting reaction"
Ink said in visible interest as he pulled the small Mer closer, examining them from head to toe and without any warning grew to his bigger form and ignored how the others growled at the lack of warning as they quickly swam away from him. His gaze however stayed on the Mer who briefly froze in response but instead of fear to his new size, they instead showed even more aggression.
He held them up so he could look at their tail and ignored the surprisingly sharp teeth and claws digging into his tentacles, humming in thought before he finally realised where he recognised the symptoms from.
"How fascinating. I haven't met a Mer that was Falling Down before. I always miss witnessing in time and with the pesky way Mer's avoid us it doesn't help matters and a Betta Mer of all things. How very interesting "
He said far too cheerfully for the situation, his white tentacles changing colours with his mood as interest took over. He held the small Mer firmly as he saw how they kept floating upwards, doubtful they could even swim and honestly impressed they were even awake right now.
It was obvious to him that this was a very stressed Mer, although they didnt look too thin so it must have been an environmental factor affecting them but there were far too many to label one and he wasnt a healer by any means.
He just found it fascinating to watch other Mer and see how they tick, mostly keeping to his smaller form so he could try and hide while he watched them.
It was like one of those 'documentaries' that he heard land dwellers talk about while everyone else called it 'stalking' but he thought that was far too strong a word and he thought of himself more as a researcher. He even took notes so that made it much better, thats what his land dwelling friend said anyway.
Oh, there was an idea. He could take the little Mer to them. For some reason Dream and Reaper seemed to have grown attached to the tiny creature and he could kind of see the appeal with how bitey it was and it smelled oddly familiar for some reason.
"XGaster is going to love seeing you"
Sun felt a chill run down his spine and looked wide eyed at the news, wondering how he kept ending in these sort of situations and felt this was escalating much faster then he was used to. He tried to scrabble from their hold but the octopus Mer held on tightly, hissing at all the other suddenly very large Mer's and wondering what hell type of AU he travelled to and wondering if his talkers were better than this.
