CHAOS has a plan and 404 suddenly has a chance to practice some parenting skills when a slight hiccup occurs.

Palette would like to opt out please

AntiVoid

404 hadn't expected the offer but he was already nodding before he could help it. Perhaps he could somewhat admit to not being the best parent out there and maybe not that great with children but little Sun was different. And a godparent was basically just a fun parent, without any of the heavy stuff he didn't seem to be very good at.

It was a win-win situation and he could still stay near his delightful feral cat child and be in their life. At least better than those other idiots who could hardly keep track of Sun for more than a week and were able to lose the baybones even when in the same room.

At least he could keep track of them for months at a time with no issue.

He was far too proud for a monster who had caused unimaginable trauma for Sun and the main reason the babybones was so good at escaping other monsters due to their overly protective way. 404 was near the top of the crazy pyramid of stalkers and weirdos in the child's life and somehow took that trophy as a sign he was 'perfect' to stay in Sun's life.

"Now what was the exact address that my twin gave me again...? I'm sure I wrote it down somewhere.."

CHAOS quietly muttered, ignoring the concerningly heavy breathing coming from 404 and wordlessly handed over the passed out babybones to them, while he looked through his phone and then his notepad. He'd usually wing things to find his twin but now he was carrying something precious and when he tried to remember anything about pregnancy, it flew out his mind.

He snatched a useful book from his Inventory another gift from LUCK about 'What to expect from pregnancy and handling babies'. Absolutely puzzled why there was a post it note reminding him that 'kittens are rather mobile even when newborn'.

He crunched up that weird note and threw it into the white without care it later hit a napping Error a few multiverses over right in the face.

Surely it was unimportant and focused back on finding the exact coordinates of Marconi's home. The more mortal name his twin was going by lately.

"Right, I'm going to open a portal and we will all step though and my brother will have a better idea on what the hell is happening"

His voice did not have a hysterical edge to it and if he said it enough, he was sure it would become true!

...Oh god, he was going to be a parent! He'd never considered being pregnant and this was more thrown on him, than a choice like his twin had done.

He pushed back the alarm, taking a deep breath and stepped through the portal he made. Hoping his twin would be able to help him.

404 was about to follow when the portal glitched, a light barrier covering it before it shattered like glass when he tried to pass by it. He blinked confused, humming in realisation that the location must have some selective wards and he didn't seem welcome to.

There were quite a few places that had such wards but the brief touch he got showed him he would not get through those wards without likely losing most of his limbs and having a shredded magic core for the effort....

How fun!

Chaos sure knew some fun people. He couldn't wait to meet them!

"..what's going on?...why is my voice so high pitched?! What did you two do to me!"

...oh right, he was now in charge of a child. A child who was scared of him and was already starting to shake in his grip and trying to claw free. He tightened his hold in a practiced manner that was restraining yet not painful on the small body, the Palette rather cute when they were scowling.

Now, what to do first?

"-are you listening to me?! Where is Sun? Where has the Cross monster gone and more importantly why am I so small!"

...right, kids get cranky. Which could be due to needing a nap or food. He nodded to himself while blanking out the words from the cursing babybones who was trying to hide their fear.

Casually opening a portal and jumping to a nearby multiverse for a quick break.

Surely CHAOS wouldn't take long until they allowed him into the warded place. He had to meet his adorable little Sun again as a god parent! Oh, that's an idea. He could grab a present for them, what lovely luck he truly had.

Palette stared into the distance like he hoped to find answers. It was useless as no mercy was to be found, at least having his two fluffy friends staying hidden in his jacket and helping him keep somewhat sane.

The most insane moser he met in his life had dragged him to a new multiverse, jumped into the Doodle Sphere like it was nothing before. Then they challenged the local Ink to a wrestling match for a plushy of all things and somehow won against a Creator's insane strength.

It was a nice cat plushy with pretty blue eyes and sparkling black fur for the body but surely it wasn't worth this much effort. No wonder so little affected Sun if they dealt with this all the time, barely keeping sane as he watched 404 casually flick people out of existence for getting too close.

"Don't worry, tiny child. You are perfectly safe with me."

...those words were far from comforting, his fear turning into existential dread. Feeling rather sane compared to this monster and that was saying something.

"I've fed you, given you rest and you have new clothes. Now we can have a bit of fun! How do you feel about going back to the Doodle Sphere and watching the paint waterfalls? I've heard they are beautiful to watch and there are rumours there are sparkly paints here. We might be even to get you some, as you are a Creator type as well"

404 smiled with a wild gleam in his eyes, taking the silence as agreement and scruffing the resigned child with one hand and roughly making a portal with the other. He knew Creators needed stimulus to keep from going stir crazy so that is what he was doing.

Giving himself a pat on the back for doing such a good job, this parenting book truly helped him bond with this tiny Palette rather well.
