Sun used spite!...it seems this attack slightly misfired.

Sun growled unhappily as he glared at the back of the monsters skull, thinking the XGaster should count themselves lucky that he had far too many restrictions on him to fully damage the insane monster but still rather smug at the large tear he put in their previously meticulous lab coat that he could tell they had been very proud of.
He of course ignored Dream's scolding, his dislike ever increasing of this worlds version of a Positivity Guardian now that they looked like any other normal monster and felt this entire AU was creepy with how little sense it made to him. He bared his teeth in a rather unfriendly manner when the 'Doctor' tried to get closer to him again, unable to help the slight wag of his weird fishy tail when he heard their breath hitch.
He soon realised why when he spotted a reflective surface in the building he had sadly been dragged into, admiring the practically needle-like teeth and definitely planning to try and use his magic to add this fun little feature when things were back to normal and he was far away from this hell hole.
He was clinging to the small spark of optimism, unsure he could deal with this if he didnt and ignored the mental ping in the back of his mind as he felt his HP shift downwards, a few more scales falling off his tail at the same time.
"Well? Can you fix the broken hatchling? You can, right?"
XGaster used every bit of self control to try and keep his face as neutral as possible when Ink asked that question, seeing the tiny Mer hissvery aggressively at him anytime he simply dared to move or even breath and thinking it was frankly a miracle he even got a blood sample without losing a hand at all.
He was glad his assistant wasn't due to come back until this evening, not wanting to replace the latest one so soon or have to hide their 'mysterious' disappearance if any of the creatures in the room got offended with him as everyone he hired so far tended to be a bit...well, stupid to put it lightly.
It was annoying he didn't have many choices for assistants with not many willing to work with him but at least he knew Cross was obedient after the years he wasted raising them after that regretful night he had with their mother.
So many years of research held back but he made sure Cross could fully pay him back, the smaller more annoying details of dealing with an underfunded lab given to Cross to deal with in the end. Truly he was a generous monster not just throwing them into the orphanage and giving them a path so they actually contribute something to society, pulling himself out of his thoughts when the small Mer hissed at him again...and was that a judging look?
Of course not, he must just be more tired then he thought which was to be expected with all of this suddenly thrown at his feet.
It was depressing to say that being in a room with so many Leviathans his absolute dream wasn't the first thing that occupied his mind and instead the frankly feral creature was. He repeatedly tried to remind himself that he had been working on keeping this 'friendship' with Ink for a reason and he couldn't let one wild Mer ruin that.
He'd lost so many assistants to Ink over the years, the police sniffing into his business a bit too much for his liking but it would be worth it in the end.
He would heal the Mer as quickly as he could and then he would gain the gratitude of many of the Leviathans which would only further his research further. He just had to endure then everything would fall into place, trying to put as much confidence into his voice as he answered Ink.
