All the children were excited when they woke up for school, always loving the lessons and treats they would get at lunchtime if they were good. It was always easy to get the many children up, none ever fussing on what they ate with the rules being followed to a T. Punishment's were a rare thing, only required a handful of times until the anomalies were sorted out with life more peaceful than most could ever dream of!

"Did you hear? We are getting a new student soon. I wonder what they will be like?"

"I bet they will be fun to play with!"

"I wonder if they will have cool magic?"

"I can't wait to meet them!"

The children's voices overlapped each other, words becoming indistinguishable with the home teacher having to intervene to quieten down the excited youngsters. The classroom was filled with a variety of monsters, children from all walks of life with the occasional human monster hybrid in the group as well.

Pure humans had no place here, they were fine in their world and didn't need this place.

"Now i hope i dont have to tell everyone to be nice. Lets try not to overwhelm them like last time"

A pointed glance was given to Goth who blushed and tried to hide in his seat, good natured laughter ringing out as everyone remembered how they had nearly tackled Palette when they joined the school.

The door opening caught everyone's attention and made even the louder students quieten down, all eager to see the new student first especially with how rare it was to have one enter so late in the school year no one would be able to say when exactly the last student came here, it feeling vague but everyone agreed it did happen.

The first thing everyone noticed was the startling white bones, as if the student had been carved from marble rather than an actually living breathing monster. The swishing golden cat tail and delicate feline ears was next, the metallic coloured fur seeming to shimmer in the light and reflect all possible light in the room. The piercing eyelights were the last feature to be taken in but no less startling, a shining gold and orange eyelight that entranced the room with none able to take their eyes off the student.

Toriel smiled in amusement as she watched it all, her students so very predictable and could already see some puppy crushes developing on the newest student. It happened every time and the innocent bets she made with her colleagues never stopped being amusing.

"Well, why dont you introduce yourself to the class, dear?"

The newer student almost seemed to hide against the attention, ears flicking and a shy grin coming onto their face that endeared them further to the room.

"H-Hello. My name is Dream. It's nice to meet you all. I hope we can get along well"

The new student was of course the talk of the school but as things tended to life settled down and and within a few weeks the general gossip moved onto something else, children hardly having the attention span to stay on one topic for so long.
