Palette is making some progress and getting judged the entire time. While Sun is making sure these rude people learn manners (and gain much trauma)

"Don't give me that look, how was I supposed to know this was a high level area?"

Palette huffed defensively and acted rather like a toddler trying to badly hide the fact they snuck a cookie, despite the crumbs all over their face and shirt. He refused to be cowed by his smaller kitten who was staring at him with so much judgement and disappointment, that it would make even an Error wilt in response.

It wouldn't work on Palette though, practically immune to such looks after dealing with one parent who tried too hard and another who was basically a distant friend then anything familial. That is to say that he ignored the look the two kittens were giving him in the same manner that he ignored the very large dragon behind him which was now very much dead.

It's not his fault they decided to attack him! The creature had a clear lack of survival instinct in his opinion and it was rather rude they got in his way.

"I'm just following the clues from the babybones. You both have to know how sneaky the child is and the clues are impossible to follow!"

The two kittens shared a look, the larger one sighing in exasperation as they both agreed their monster was rather hopeless. It only solidified the idea to stay with them, glad mother had given them to the silly kitten stuck in a big body who was bad at emotional regulation, no matter what they said.

They might be young but they were smart, the still nameless kittens apart from what mother had named them but they were waiting for their chosen monster to get with the program batted their monsters face to get them to move, instead of admiring the destruction they wrought.

"...I wonder if I can make their scales into a cloak or some type of clothing? Surely the kid will forgive me then?"

Twin kitten sighs of exasperation rang out, the three not moving for far too long as Palette got distracted yet again. At least they knew for sure that the feline-like babybones was in this location, now hopefully they could catch up before Palette did something without thinking...yet again.

——-

"How did we attract a dragon's attention?! There shouldn't be any in this area!"

"Less talking, more dodging! I can't keep healing forever!"

"What colour is the dragon?! We only have a certain star level and i cannot-"

"Shut up and keep trying to survive!"

Sun lazily yawned on his higher branch, making sure to groom his golden fur to perfection with the sound of battle a lovely backdrop. At least it stopped the annoying shouting for him and that annoying smiling human trying to coax him out of the tree with a subpar offering of bread.

Such an insulting offering and one he replied to in kind.

ROAR

*BANG*

*CRASH*

There were so many odd creatures in this world, it surprisingly easy to ask a rather friendly dragon to rough up the rude group, whose screeching voices were annoying. This place was actually rather nice, almost tempted to stay here for longer to watch this mess but he did want to explore further before he inevitably got grabbed by someone again.

He had briefly been tempted to try and shift into a dragon as it looked fun but something inside him instinctively said that would be a bad idea and he listened to his instincts.

With one last glance he jumped down his tree, shaking off his fur and padding away with little care for the screams behind him. They were lucky he was so restrained and kind enough to give them a light warning.

Hopefully they would understand and be better whenever they dealt with a similar situation.

He gave the group the gift of trauma who in the future would flinch at Tabaxi's with one even breaking down and becoming a simple potion maker in response.

Sun missed the slight glitching of the sky before it settled a few seconds later, far too focused on enjoying his sudden vacation and might even thank Palette for it all...if he wasn't still holding a grudge.

The sky subtly shifted to a different hue of blue, the grass under his cat paws withering before coming back to life in an unnatural cycle. The Code's were bending and yet few would notice or even realise the issue until it got worse.

"...i think i really messed up"

Palette reluctantly admitted out loud to the two searing gazes on the side of his face, something he found hard to do and fully blamed his ego he inherited from Ink. It wasn't his favourite trait and something he struggled to deal with, only really acknowledging it when he got into trouble like this.

The badly glitching sun that kept phasing between a moon and sun, the wild monsters growing even more dangerous and the basic worlds mechanics starting to break down.

Maybe he should have actually talked to SuN the child before he acted and simply threw them at a random multiverse, the consequences of the self editing that the babybones had done now affecting the world they interacted with. It is worse here as this place wasn't exactly complicated Code wise but that is what made it more fun with luck and birth stats the main driving force of this world.

A very hands off approach by the Creator who had a more unique approach to things but that did make this world more vulnerable to issues such as this and not able to adapt easily to chances or foreign bodies.

The child's path was clear, Palette confident he could find them quickly...but now he was lost for words on how to interact with them. The last time they did so playing in his mind like a terrible film and nearly wincing at how he acted without thought, just like his father would do.

....maybe he could avoid doing anything for a while? Let the child cool down. The multiverse looked like it could withstand a bit more glitching so surely that would only be the sensible thing to do.

The kittens looked on in dismay at the choices of their monster, determined to bully some sense into them one way or another.

Palette: *Covered in soot and somehow bumping into every issue he could* I'm innocent in this!

Quest group: *Trying to coax Sun out of a tree with bread*

Sun: *Puffing up in offence* I have never been so insulted in my life! Shame on you all!

*Ten seconds later*

Sun: *Much more relaxed after asking a dragon to attack the group* Hmph, that will teach them. So very rude. They should feel lucky i was so restrained

-

Palette: *Full confidence* I knew exactly what i am doing

*Seeing the effects of Sun's presence and realising he will actually need to talk to Sun*

Palette: *Far less confident and trying to avoid*...i think i left the oven on. I should go solve that first..
