Shattered had to have multiple tentacles circled around the babybones, as well as his arms in order to keep them in place, as Sun was far more wiggly than he anticipated. He didn't know children were capable of being this determined about anything, having truly believed they had short attention spans.

He was learning he was greatly mistaken about that....

He had only had them for 30 minutes and they had nearly escaped at least two times already!

The worst part was that they weren't even using magic to do so, the odd Creators words suddenly making a whole lot more sense.

Did they have to be so cryptic in their instructions though?!

'Make sure to keep them in your sights', 'they can be very stubborn' and the ever helpful 'dont forget to feed them or they can be a bit grumpy'. He thought they were mocking him, initially offended they thought him so incompetent as to not be able to care for one kid.

Sure he might have not wanted to do this in the first place but it was the principle of the matter!

...Now he understood it wasn't advice but warnings , narrowing his gaze when he saw Sun about to bite his tentacle.

"That wont do you much good and it doesn't taste nice"

"But it will annoy you though!"

They were such a spiteful little kid, their smugness practically filling the air as they knew they were right. He didn't think he had ever met anyone with so much spite before and he felt it would only get worse as the days passed, the gleam in Suns eyes not exactly comforting.

Shattered had sadly been right, feeling utterly exhausted despite it only being a few hours since he agreed on the stupid 'favour'.

He knew he should have never asked the odd Creator for favour in the first place, feeling he had truly made a deal with the Devil and was only realising right now.

Sure the odd Ink had majorly helped him to block the Doodle Sphere from everyone, apart from who he approved of, having desperately needed somewhere safe to stay after he had eaten the apples.

It had felt like pure luck he had run into someone who could help him refusing to admit to the brief SOUL attack at the time of fearing his Ink had found him .

Now he knew the truth of that 'auspicious' meeting....

"You know, you kind of look like an ugly starfish. Maybe you should pick a new name, Shattered."

...It was actually the Devil praying on his weakness to get him to do their dirty work later on.

He was so utterly drained as he watched the babybones energetically climb the bookshelf and then leap off it towards the front door. He was still baffled how they were accomplishing this, only having looked away for a few seconds before they tried to repeat the process.

He was frankly grateful they haven't used any magic, sighing as he quickly snatched them up with his tentacles before they could hurt themselves with their frankly insane stunts.

"Why are you sighing? Is it because you are old? I've heard old people need to sleep more. Why dont you go and lie down, old man. Oops, sorry i mean to say, old starfish."
