!!!!!!!!!!Author's Note!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Everyone! Happy Friday (actually Sat)! I hope you all had a good week. Mine was very busy and culminated with the bass player in my band's birthday party on Friday. He wanted the band to play, so we played five songs. It was fun, but it's why this update is late. I didn't get home until much later.
So this week we are seeing something different. This hallucination is going to be be different than the ones Patrick's had thus far. First off, it's going to be VERY long and detailed. It's also going to be extremely terrifying towards the end. Not everything is going to be seen from Patrick's point of view like the previous ones have and things will happen either without him present or he will be unconscious. I figured since this was going to be his longest, most detailed, and scariest hallucinations, that it needed to be different and more involved that just what he experiences. I think you'll enjoy it, but this is complicated and is going to unfold over several chapters. It will be like a story within a story. We will also go back to the real world and see how what's happening in the hallucination are affecting Patrick in real life.
Anyways, this week we are introduced to a different Patrick. He's a student who has always had this deep connection to nature but he doesn't know why (we will find that out later). He wakes up, looks over the various news headlines and finds two of them interesting. The first is about another person who is missing and another is about an aggressive dog attack. He doesn't think much of it and leaves for school, stopping in his favorite park/garden on campus to people watch. He ends up meeting a beautiful man named Pete, exchanges numbers with him and they agree to meet the next day, before having to leave for class. After class he runs into a classmate named Joe who convinces him to come to the coffee shop to hang out with his friends. Patrick goes and has fun until he realizes he needs to get back to the music building for his next class. While walking there, he feels like he's being watched and followed. He picks up his pace and starts looking over his shoulder when he sees a tall man wearing a hoodie that appears to have something in his front pocket and is gaining on him. He's clearly targeting Patrick, so Patrick ducks into a building, bars the door, runs down into the tunnels that connect the buildings, runs as fast as he can to the music building and locks himself in a practice room. Patrick realizes that he was almost kidnapped and wonders why anyone would want to kidnap him since he was a poor student and his parents weren't rich.
As always, enjoy, tell your friends, and if you like it, feel free to leave me kudos or a comment! You can find me on tumblr @dancecoaster. Happy Reading!
Chapter 124
********Trigger Warning for Kidnapping********
*Patrick wakes up to the sound of his alarm on his phone, blaring Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata feeling very groggy. It takes him a minute to wake up, enough to turn the alarm off. He also loves the piece, so he has no problem letting the alarm continue for another minute or two. It's not like he's bothering anyone. He lives alone in a cute, quaint and cozy cabin just outside of town surrounded by a beautiful forest, but still close enough to town that he has all the modern amenities he could want, like an updated kitchen and bathroom, cable/satellite tv and strong internet among other things. The cabin was the perfect balance of styles. It combined modernity with the character of the cozy cabin. Patrick had been so excited when he'd toured the cabin. It was perfect! The location was what sold him the most. He loved being surrounded by nature. Nature had always provided him with a type of calm that he was never able to find in the big cities. The fact that this place was in a small forest on the outskirts of town was wonderful. Every store you could imagine was just up the street and it was within walking distance of the small college that Patrick was attending as a music production and sound engineering student. He had a car for when he went to the grocery store or he had to buy more than he could carry, but normally he enjoyed walking into town or to his classes. It was good exercise for him, and part of his walk to school went through this lovely, forested park/garden area with beautiful waterfalls and bridges over them to observe their magnificence on campus. Whenever Patrick had extra time, he'd spend it there, eating lunch on one of the benches, or just sitting there playing on his phone while surrounded by the calming sounds of nature. He had no idea why, but he'd always felt more connected and grounded by nature. Even the thought of it put him in a more pleasant mood.
