Chapter 158

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week! Mine was fine. I'm sick so I couldn't teach my lessons. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and got some medicine so I'm feeling a bit better, which is good. I'll just be taking it easy this weekend trying to get better. I did want you to know that I added two chapters to the Prologue Synopsis yesterday, so go check that out!

Anyways, this week Gabe stops draining Patrick so he can collect a lot of his blood to synthesize and enjoy later. Hybrid One offers Patrick some pain medication and Patrick takes it. Then they make an incision in the bottom of his foot, insert a tube and use that to collect his blood into a vessel. Patrick is going downhill quickly. Then Gabe continues feeding on him and finishes him off until he passes out from the pain and dies. Gabe continues the turning process barking orders at various hybrid nurses give him medications and charge the devices to electrocute Patrick's body. When they are finished, Gabe goes to get Travie so they can torture Pete and Joe. Joe and Pete are in their cell while Pete experiences Patrick's pain. Pete explains that Gabe is trying to turn Patrick. Pete mentions that Gabe had stopped feeding but he didn't know why, until he remembered that Patrick had Fairy blood, so that was why Gabe was collecting his blood. Pete explains that he wants to kill Gabe if they get the chance and Joe's on board. Gabe starts feeding again and Pete feels it. He eventually hits his pain ceiling and passes out. Joe puts him in the bottom bunk and goes back to sleep. Pete wakes up two hours later. Joe asks if he's ok, and Pete says no, crying, because Patrick was dead. Joe comforts, asking Pete what happened. Pete tells him everything. Gabe walks over to Travie's office to get him so they can go torture Pete and Joe. Guards come to get Pete and Joe and leave the door to their cell wide open. Pete and Joe have a telepathic conversation and decide to make a break for it and to distract the guards, Pete will fake a heart attack. They disconnect from each other and Pete acts like he's having a heart attack while Joe hits the guards over the head with a pipe. They stun the guards and take off running, going to the lab to rescue Patrick. They are just outside the doors when they are both decked to the floor by the guards. Pete begs them to let him get his mate so he can give him a proper burial, but the guards don't listen, drug them both with a sedative, and they both pass out.

Chapter 158

*"Enjoy your break, Patrick. We are going to collect a decent portion of your blood now for me to synthesize later and enjoy even after you're turned. Lucky you!" Gabe announces as he steps away and allows the nurses to set up the collection vessel. They take the remote and lay the medical table down to make it easier to complete what they need to do.

"One of those working on him is Hybrid One, who makes eye contact with him. He leans down and pretends to do something while he whispers very quietly in Patrick's ear.

"I wanted to anesthetize or sedate you so it wouldn't be so painful, but he refused. I'm sorry. I can give you a small amount of pain medicine if you want it. I know you don't have much time left. Blink once for yes and twice for no." Hybrid One whispers.

Patrick blinks once. While they still look like they're doing something, they pull a very small syringe from their pocket, pretending to do something where they're standing in front of him to cover him and inject it into Patrick's side. When they're finished, they return to what they were really supposed to be doing. Patrick sees them pick up a scalpel and his eyes look up at them very worried. They wink at him and call out to Gabe.
