!!!!!!!!!!Author's Note!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week! Mine was really busy. We got home from our trailer trip. Then we had two days and then my parents came from Wisconsin to visit for Christmas. I taught my lessons and then this weekend we are going to the railroad museum for their Polar Express event, which my son absolutely loves! He talks about this all year and is so excited!
Anyways, this week, we return sick bay in the real world. Spencer examines Patrick in more detail since he can't tell him what his symptoms are. He also gives him some cold medicines to control his symptoms. Joe asks him what he thinks Patrick has, and Spencer says that he has bronchitis or and upper respiratory infection, mentioning that he will monitor his symptoms and see where it goes. Spencer tells him that he thinks Patrick has pneumonia, but it hasn't progressed enough call it that yet. Then Spencer discusses his plan to keep Patrick's fever down with Ian and Joel. Gabe thinks about what happened during his private time with Patrick. He reveals he is slowly making Patrick what he wants. Then he reveals some new information about what happens to humans when they drink a lot of a vampire's blood and then thinks about the things he'd like to do with Patrick in the future. In Patrick's hallucination, Spencer, Joe, Andy, and Elisa return with Patrick after his tests. Pete wakes up and they catch him up on what happened. Patrick is still asleep and his test results haven't come back yet, so Spencer sends everyone to the cafeteria to eat. They trade embarrassing stories to pass the time. They return to Patrick's room and there has been no change. Spencer goes to see why it's taking so long for Patrick's test results to come back. When he returns, he tells them that Patrick's test results were sent to the wrong doctor who discarded them, but he has them now but he hasn't gotten a chance to go through them. He tells everyone to settle in because they had a good chunk of time before Patrick's procedure, so they turn on Patrick's TV and watch a cartoon marathon.

Chapter 139
********Trigger Warning for Drug Use and Descriptions of Medical Conditions and Procedures ********
"Alright. It looks like we can do pseudoephedrine for a decongestant, hydroxyzine for an antihistamine, dextromethorphan for the cough, guaifenesin for an expectorant, and we will use a steroid nasal spray. That should make a big difference and make him more comfortable, but we are still only treating the symptoms not the root cause." Spencer says as he puts the orders and dosages into the computer.
Spencer sets his laptop aside and goes back to where Patrick is lying in his bed. He feels around Patrick's head to check for bumps or contusions but doesn't find anything.
"Joel, Ian could you help me pry his mouth open so I can see his throat?" Spencer asks.
"Sure." Joel says as he goes over to help Spencer.
"Yes." Ian affirms and walks over to Patrick's bedside.
The three of them work on trying to get Patrick's mouth open. It feels like it's locked shut. He's probably grinding his teeth. They try a little harder and are finally able to open Patrick's mouth enough that Spencer can look at his throat. Spencer shines the light inside and finds that his throat is incredibly red and there are white spots all over it. It spans the area from where Patrick's nose holes empty into his mouth all the way to the back and seems to go down even further. Patrick's tongue, which is now pierced in two different places, has canker sores all over it too. Poor guy, that looks absolutely miserable and terribly painful. Spencer pulls back and allows Patrick's mouth to close.
