!!!!!!!!!!Author's Note!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Everyone! Greetings from Huatulco Mexico! I hope everyone had a good two weeks! I'm sorry about missing last week's update but I hope you understand why it happened. As promised, here are your two chapters! It's absolutely gorgeous here and I wish I could stay for so much longer, but we are leaving to go home on Sunday. The only downside to this trip was that both of us got whatever flu my son had when we left. From what I understand, this is extremely contagious. We are also not the only people here who are sick. There are a ton of people in the same boat as we are. We tried to slow down and make the best of it, which we've done, and it's been enjoyable, but we just wish we hadn't gotten sick. Since my next update will be on December 26, I wanted to make sure I wish you all a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to those that don't. One more thing. Let me preface this by saying that I have personal experience with the procedures Patrick is having in the first chapter. I may or may not have told you about this, but a few years ago, I had to have my appendix removed. However, I waited too long, because I wrote it off as pulling something at the gym. They had me on the table the next morning. When they went to grab it and pull it out, it burst. I was in the hospital for two weeks on antibiotics. They were giving me oxygen at the time as well because my blood-oxygen level was too low. I noticed that it kind of hurt to breathe, but I was so sick that I didn't make the connection. Eventually they said I was good to go home. I went home and started recovering, but it still really hurt when I would breathe. They thought I had pneumonia and has sent me home with an antibiotic for it, but it wasn't getting better. I went to the urgent care at my doctor's office and they told me to go to the ER because I could have a blood clot in my lung. I followed their advice and went to the ER that night. I had several x-rays and multiple CT scans and it was later determined that I have a ton of fluid between my lung and the the chest wall, which had caused my lung to partially collapse. I had to have a thoracentesis to remove all the fluid. It filled this big jug up almost to the top. Once the fluid was gone, my lung reinflated and I was good to go.
Anyways, I'm still sick and pretty tired, so I'm not going to provide a really in-depth summary of each chapter. I will give you more than I did above though, because it only allowed a certain amount of characters and I had to summarize two chapters. So we will start with Chapter 140. Spencer reviews the x-rays and the CT scan results and is surprised that Patrick has been able to breathe at all. There was still a ton of fluid inside and outside of his lungs which have caused a partial collapse of both lungs. He shares his findings with everyone, and they wait until it's time for Patrick's procedures later. During that time, Pete asks to speak to Spencer privately, so Spencer leads him into a doctor's lounge, locks the door, and hears him out. Pete tells him that he couldn't fall asleep at first so he did more research on fairies and came up with some compelling evidence that Patrick almost certainly had an ancient fairy ancestor somewhere deep in his lineage. They agree to discuss this with Patrick before sharing it with the others and return to his room. They take Patrick for his procedure. They all observe as the Pulmonologist removes all the fluid from inside and outside his lungs. They want to keep Patrick overnight for observation, so they all get stuck sleeping in Patrick's room. They release him the next morning and take him back to the pack house.
Onward to Chapter 141. They get to the pack house and the others are there to help unload Patrick and put him back in his bed. Then Pete calls a pack meeting to discuss Patrick becoming a member of their pack and how to train him before his first transformation. They all agree to help in whatever way they can. Then they talk about who attacked Patrick and why. Pete shares the details he learned from Patrick after he was almost kidnapped the first time. They put all the pieces together and come to the conclusion that he was attacked by the pack that they were investigating. They reveal many grim details of what this pack has done and why they are so relentless and dangerous. Pete knows the only reason they haven't come after Patrick again is because they think he's dead, so they have to make sure it stays that way. Pete calls the meeting to a close and then returns to Patrick's room where Spencer tells him to go to sleep, which he does. In the real world, Joe is with Patrick in sick bay whose condition is getting worse. Spencer wants to send him to the hospital, but Joe talks Brad into going to get Gabe to heal him.As always, enjoy, tell your friends, and if you like if it feel free vote on my story or leave me a message!
