Chapter 144

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week! Mine has been fine. My parents left on Monday, so now we are going back to our normal life. I'm still pretty tired, but I went back to teaching this week and I got two new students, so that is awesome! We don't have any plans for the weekend, which will be nice to just chill for a while.

Anyways, this week we pick up where we left off last week. Patrick woke up to find himself naked, freezing, lying on a forest floor spooning the dead carcass of the animal that he attacked, killed, and ate. He's panicking and feeling guilty for taking this animal's life. The wind blows reminding him that he's naked and freezing. Patrick contacts Pete using their telepathic link to tell him what's going on. Pete asks him if he's injured and he tells him no. Patrick asks him what's going on, and Pete tells him that Spencer's read about a few cases of first changes happening before the first full moon and new werewolves disappearing in search of raw meat. They return home only to find themselves naked and covered in blood the next day with no memory of what happened, or would wake up in a situation like Patrick is currently in. Patrick tells Pete about these vivid dreams of him attacking, killing and eating animals that he's been having where he wakes up naked, covered in blood the next day, asking if they really happened and weren't dreams. Pete confirms this and asks him how long they'd been happening. Patrick tells him about over a week ago while he was still sick and immobile. Then they started happening more frequently until the beginning of the week which was when he'd wake up naked and covered in blood not remembering what happened. He said he didn't tell anyone because he was embarrassed and he thought they were part of the transformation and that they'd go away, but they got worse until he woke up in the forest this morning. Pete scolds him for not telling him and that he needs to use the pack to help his transformation to go smoothly. Patrick asks how this happened and Spencer says it's probably because of his fairy blood. Pete tells him to look around to figure out where he is. Patrick does this and finds out he's in the forest outside his house. Pete asks him if he can get back there and Patrick says yes. He gives Pete his address and tells him to meet him there in two hours. Patrick runs home, dresses in his warmest clothes and makes a blanket fort to warm up. He falls asleep and wakes up when Pete rings his doorbell. Patrick lets him in and then gets in the shower for a while while he mourns the animals he killed and ate. He gets dressed when he's done and then meets Pete on his couch where they talk about what happened. Patrick tells him the main problem he's having is dealing with the guilt of killing and eating other animals. It makes sense in his head, but he's struggling with it. Pete apologizes for not being there for his first change and tells him he's glad he doesn't remember it because it's incredibly painful. Pete also tells him that they don't diminish the animals lives, but they honor them for what they provided for them, which is mostly sustenance. They continue talking about this for a while. When they are finished, Pete suggests not staying there for too much longer, so Patrick goes to pack some of his stuff. Patrick asks if he could come back to his house when he's feeling anxious from being around a lot of people for a long time, and Pete says yes, once things calm down. That makes Patrick happy. He gives Pete a tour of his house and then they head out to Pete's car to go back to the packhouse.
