Chapter 142

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you had a good week and a good holiday if you celebrate it! This week has been busy for me. We came back from Mexico on Sunday (technically Monday) after midnight. It was an incredibly long day. It took us an hour and a half to go through security after customs at the Dallas airport! The line was snaked around the whole terminal all the way back to where the entrance and ticket counters were! It was insane! After that, we had just barely enough time to grab food and eat before our flight back to Sacramento. We had a three-hour layover. It was crazy! The next day I had to bake all the cookies for Santa. I couldn't do them before we left because my son and my dad are huge cookie monsters and they would've been gone before Christmas. We had a good Christmas with our family overall though! Now we can all focus on getting better!

Anyways, This week, we are back to Patrick's hallucination. He's doing better and notices his intense feelings for Pete getting much stronger. He also notices that he's healing very quickly, his hair and body hair are getting much thicker, his muscle mass is changing to resemble a werewolf, and he has this intense craving for raw meat that he can't eat civilly. He just inhales it and can't satisfy his need for it, which he hopes gets better as he completes his transformation. Then Pete asks him what happened prior to his attack. Patrick doesn't want to go through that again, but Pete says it's important because he thinks he knows which pack attacked him and needs more information. So, Patrick explains what happened (I'm not going to recap that). He's shocked by what Patrick tells him, but shares that this info confirms that it is the pack that Pete thought. Finally, Pete asks him to describe the man that attempted to kidnap him and Patrick logs into his cloud account, pulls up the file he wrote everything in after the first attempt, and reads it to Pete. Pete tells him that the description is a match for the leader of this other pack. Patrick asks for more information on them.

Chapter 142

*It's now been four days, and Patrick is feeling much better. The blood test came back positive for the Capnocytophaga infection, so Spencer stayed the course, and continued the treatment for it using the imipenem, which appeared to be working since Patrick's condition had improved so quickly. Patrick was now able to get out of bed and walk around upstairs with a walker that Spencer had brought home from the hospital. Patrick still felt very weak, but he knew it was important for his recovery for him to be slowly moving around a bit each day that he felt able to do so. Pete had been at his side the whole time doing everything he could to make Patrick comfortable and feel better. Patrick was basking in this time he got to spend with Pete, since a few days ago, he thought he was going to die, and they had been growing much closer. Just the thought of that made Patrick smile. It had been such a short period of time since he'd woken up, but they both felt the intense bond they shared getting stronger with each passing moment.

To be honest, Patrick was surprised by how quickly he seemed to be healing from his sicknesses. All his bite marks are now healed. They didn't even leave any scars, except on his lower left abdomen where it curled around his back. There was another scar that matched the one on the front because he'd basically been chomped from both sides meeting in the middle. Pete had told him that that was the initial bite, mentioning that all werewolves had a scar from their first bite. He'd even showed Patrick his, which was on his upper right thigh. It almost doesn't seem possible that he could go from being unconscious on the brink of death a few days ago to how he felt right now.
