!!!!!!!!!!Author's Note!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! (I know, I'm a day late and it's past midnight so technically, it's Sunday)! I hope everyone had a good week. Mine was really fun. We took our son to Great Wolf Lodge, a family, indoor waterpark resort for his birthday for four days. That's why I'm late. We checked out on Saturday morning so we were getting the most out of our last day and night there. Then we had to pack up that night, it got late, and I was really tired, so I went to bed instead of updating. I also may not get to posting this in the various groups on tumblr and Facebook tonight, but I will get to it later today. Sorry! So, you are getting it now. Better late than never, right?

Anyways, this week, we return to Patrick's hallucination. Spencer continues to care for Patrick and there isn't much of a change. Other pack members checked on Patrick as they woke up. Dan and Brendon sit with him for a while and play a card game. Eventually, Elisa and Sarah come relieve Spencer for an hour so he can eat lunch and take a break. He returns to Patrick's room and examines his blisters only to find that they are healed and the bite marks are mostly closed. Sarah asks Spencer how that's possible and they discuss the details they know about Patrick to explain it. Spencer mentions that Patrick's werewolf abilities appear to be developing faster than normal and he doesn't know why. Pete continues working on Patrick, doing extremely intricate work. Patrick wakes up for a short time. He asks Joe why he's there and meets Dan and Meagan. They give him his Percocet and he goes back to sleep. Spencer wakes up, goes to Patrick's room and discuss who should go to the hospital with Joe, Dan, and Meagan. They decide that Joe, Andy, Pete and Elisa will go.

As always, enjoy, tell your friends and if you like it, feel free to vote on my story or leave me or a comment! If you'd like to discuss the story with me directly, you can find me on tumblr @dancecoaster. Happy reading!

Chapter 135

********Trigger Warning for Discussions of Medical Situations and Conditions ********

*Spencer sits next to Patrick's bed monitoring him while he sleeps, and Pete works on him. His lungs sound slightly better after all the medications and the nebulizer treatment, and he appears to be breathing a little more freely. Spencer had been waiting until the Percocet had kicked in to catharize Patrick and begin treating him with Lasix, which was doing it's job and pulling excess fluid out of his lungs by increasing his urine production. As some of the other pack members woke up, they'd poke their heads in to see how Patrick was doing. Brendon and Dan sat with him and even brought a deck of playing cards, so they played War, which was a game that always took a long time and helped him pass the time, so that was fun. Spencer was still concerned about how high Patrick's temperature was, so he grabbed the thermometer and took readings every so often to make sure it didn't spike again like it had before. An hour ago, there'd been no change, however now, it had come down to 104 degrees. It wasn't much, but it was going in the right direction at least. Spencer had also started him on cold saline through his IV and continued with the ice pack vest. He was really hoping he could get Patrick's temperature down closer to 103, but that remains to be seen. His pneumonia and Capnocytophaga infections were severe, so, it might not go much lower than 104 right now, until the imipenem got a better hold on them both. Patrick appeared to be sleeping comfortably now, which Spencer was happy about. The poor boy had been through so much pain that he deserved a break from it. Between Percocet and Pete absorbing his pain, he must feel much better. Having constant pain was usually all-consuming and made it almost impossible to focus on anything else.
