Chapter 128

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope your week went well. Mine was busy as I keep practicing for my Halloween gig, teach voice lessons, take care of our son, wrangle the new puppy and his old brother dog, and go to band practice. I also haven't been feeling the greatest, but I'm getting better. We are having another laid back weekend, resting up for all that's coming in October. We are going to a concert in Fresno, I have to perform some opera stuff, and of course, I've got my Halloween gig and hoping I can maybe get one or two more. October is usually a super crazy month for me. My husband is the Director of Plant Engineering at a winery and from August through November is their harvest time. This is when he works the hardest and has to work longer hours to process all the grapes that come in. So, he's been very busy and tired too.

Anyways, this week, Pete brings Patrick back to his house to try and save him. His friends, Joe, Dan, and Andy are there waiting for him. They take Patrick up to an empty bedroom in the house and immediately start working on him, sealing all the bite marks with a silver and dittany mixture. Pete tells them that he was attacked by a pack of very aggressive werewolves. Pete asks Dan to call other "members" to see who could come there and help. He's able to get two more "members" back to help, Brendon, and Spencer, who was a doctor, bringing as much of the universal blood type that the blood bank at the hospital had and giving it to Patrick. Now Pete was able to work on healing the mortal damage to his body. It turns out that Pete and the people (members) that live at his house are werewolves. Pete is the pack leader, so he possesses an ability called pain transference. He can absorb Patrick's pain and release it, as well as fix and heal the worst of the damage to Patrick's body. He puts Patrick's missing organs back in his body where they are supposed to go and starts healing the most critical organs and systems until Patrick is finally stable. It takes him several hours to accomplish this, but he is successful. When he disconnects from Patrick's body, he realizes that he pushed himself way too far and almost collapses on the floor. Pete tells everyone that Patrick's system was flooded with a toxic amount of werewolf saliva and it's poisoning him, noting that he would be incredibly sick from it. They also know that Patrick will transform into a werewolf now. Pete congratulates everyone on saving Patrick and then leaves to go sleep so he can recover.  When he gets up the next afternoon, he feels better and goes to check on Patrick. Not much has changed except that his temperature is rising fast. Then we check in on Patrick who is very sick. He decides he must somehow be alive because he was still connected to his body. He feels that something is wrong and he feels his body changing. He notices that his critical injuries had mostly been healed and doesn't understand how that is possible. Next, Pete is sitting with Patrick, his temperature keeps rising despite their efforts to lower it and Patrick is sweating and has soaked through his clothes and the sheets. He decides to call Spencer because Patrick needs fluids, and a stronger pain killer. Pete asks when the others will be home. Andy tells him that most will be home within the next hour and urges Pete to go back to sleep so he can get better enough to work on Patrick more. Pete calls Spencer and then decides to go back to sleep. He wakes up feeling better, goes to see Patrick, and Spencer tells him what they are currently doing to help him. He tells Pete that Meredith, Sarah, Meagan, and Elisa were currently working on a potion to neutralize the saliva and draw it out of him, so Pete decides to go help them. They tell him that they've made progress, but they are trying to figure out how to get it out of his body. They figure out how to neutralize the toxic saliva leaving him with a much safer amount. Pete has questions about acquiring the ingredients, how long they had before they couldn't reverse the toxic saliva, and about it's safety since Patrick isn't a full werewolf yet. Meredith tells him that they need to do this soon, and they will try to minimize the risk to Patrick, telling him that this is Patrick's only chance. Pete tells the to do it and to get everything they need for it here by tomorrow morning. He also tells them to compile the list of what they need and bring it to him. He feels very nauseous after this, goes into the bathroom, pukes, and then falls apart.
