Chapter 147

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week. Mine was decent. I had to go back to teaching this week. I'm doing better with my dog's death. It is very helpful to have our puppy, Ranulf, around to keep me company. I think this would've been much harder if we'd come home to a dogless house. It would've been way too quiet. We took the pup last week and went for a drive and then took him to Petsmart and Petco and pick out a few toys to honor Franz. Franz was always the happiest when he was with us. We took him everywhere with as long as he was allowed. Franz also loved looking at the mice, guinea pigs, and the birds so we showed them to Ranulf.

Anyways, this week we return to reality. Gabe is still working on getting the last of the mycoplasma pneumonia out of Patrick's lungs and destroying it so that it can't infect anyone else. He gives the jugs of fluid to Ian and Joel and instructs them how to kill it and then tells them to dispose of it. The plan is for Gabe to heal the damage to Patrick's lungs and take him back to their cell so he can finish his hallucination in peace. Then Brad would stay back and compel Spencer and the nurses to forget that he was ever there and that it never happened. Gabe then heals the damage and Joe suggests changing Patrick into a uniform so they will draw less attention when walking back. Gabe wants to do it, but Joe refuses to let that happen. He dresses Patrick and then He, Gabe and Patrick leave and start walking back to Joe and Patrick's cell. Joe asks Gabe if Brad knows what's coming and Gabe tells him that he's already punished him pretty badly, and that Brad knows deep down that something else is coming, but he hasn't mentioned it for a while. They continue walking silently until Joe hears Gabe's stomach growl. He freezes in fear because he's afraid Gabe is going to feed on him. Gabe tries to assure him that he's not going to because he doesn't want kettle corn right now. Joe is confused and Gabe explains that that is how his blood tastes. They continue walking and can see Joe and Patrick's cell block when a guard stops them. Gabe tells Joe to let him take care of it and play along if he's prompted. Gabe gives the guard a sob story the guard buys it and they are about to leave when Gabe viciously attacks the guard and feeds on him until he's barely conscious. Joe is furious that Gabe didn't tell him that he'd planned to do that. Gabe says Joe would've talked him out of it. Joe tells Gabe off, and Gabe is pissed. They go into their cell block, meet up with Brad who opens the door, Gabe dumps Patrick on the ground and then stops out and Joe isn't happy and asks Gabe why he did that. Gabe smiles at him and tells him not to piss him off more or he will make his next feeding more painful and punish Patrick for his insolence. Gabe leaves saying he wants to know when Patrick is awake.

Chapter 147

It has now been another hour, and Gabe is just finishing up pulling the last of the mycoplasma pneumonia from Sugar's bloodstream, lungs, and body. He's filled three one-gallon containers with the black, oily, sludgy substance and the fourth container he's using now is very close to being full. Gabe keeps drawing the substance out until there is no more, and the container is now full. He puts the cap on it, sets it down, and deeply scans Sugar's entire body twice to make sure he didn't miss any. When he's satisfied that he's gotten it all, Gabe's next order of business is to repair the damage that the infection caused to Sugar's lungs. He moves his hands to either side of Sugar's upper chest, activates his powers and gets to work healing the devastation done to Sugar's lungs until he's interrupted by Joe knocking on the window, obviously asking to come back in now that Gabe has finished pulling out the infection. Gabe nods yes to him, and Joe reenters the room, taking his place sitting next to Sugar's bed and reading his book while Gabe worked. Gabe continues for another twenty minutes when the two nurses he sent away to cancel the ambulance that would've taken Sugar to the hospital finally return and interrupt him again, which is perfect because Gabe has the perfect job for them.
