I set Astrid down gently onto my bed. As soon as she was on the bed, she grabbed the blanket and curled her body around it.
I smiled at her, her chest was rising up and down slowly, her hair sprawling out of her braid.
She had a grin on her face, I wonder what she was dreaming about. I kissed her forehead before walking out my room and closing the door.
I sauntered into the living room, seeing my father on a chair, pulling his phone away from his ear as I walked in.
I sat down opposite him.
"You should get your powers in a couple of days."
I looked up, wide eyed. "I will?"
My father nodded.
"Wait," I said, "did you say . . . powers?"
"Yes, I believe that you are the one."
I exhaled a sharp breath that I didn't realise I was holding. "What element will be my first?"
"It depends on your personality." he sighed. "So . . . I'm guessing either fire or air. By tomorrow morning you should have a mark on your left wrist - the symbol of air."
It took me a while to take in the information but I finally said goodnight to my father and went back to my room.
I changed a pair of pyjama trousers before getting into my bed, linking an arm around Astrid. Hoping not to wake her, she stirred and her blue eyes fluttered open.
She yawned, smiling when she noticed me.
"Hey." I put a loose strand of hair behind her ear, caressing her cheek.
"How'd you sleep?" She groaned quietly, stretching her arms, accidentally punching my face.
"Sorry," she mumbled. "The question is, are you okay?"
I sighed, averting my eyes from her, removing my arms from her body. I moved from my side onto my back.
I could see her sitting up on her arms, staring at me in confusion.
"Hiccup..." She only called me that when she was worrying or joking. It was pretty clear on what she was feeling.
"What is it?" She scooted closer to me. Astrid took her hand up to my face but I turned away.
"It's nothing," I mumbled, "go back to sleep."
"Well it's obviously something. Don't hide it from me...not again...Please."
I could hear the sadness in her voice and it made my heart ache with pain.
I slowly turned my head to sense mixed emotions running around her mind, most of them to do with worry.
"I'm sorry." I told her. "I guess with all this new...news is kinda scaring me. W-what if I lose control over ALL the four elements? I could kill someone!"
Astrid sighed, "I don't know if I'm honest. You just need help and support...and that's what you will get. From me, Flynn and your father."
I grinned over at her. "Thanks baby, I love you."
Astrid smirked. "And I don't love you," she joked. I laughed before grabbing her waist and pinning her to the bed, half of my body hovering over her.
"Are you sure about that?" I whispered in her ear. She blushed bright red.
"I - I didn't - I wouldn't - "
"Yeah, that's what I thought."
I then planted my lips on hers. It took her a moment but she deepened the kiss, moving them sync.
I pulled away after a few minutes, breathing deeply.
I kissed her nose before falling onto my back, pulling her beside me.
"Oh and Hiccup?"
"Yeah?"
"Tell me when anything is on your mind, okay?"
"Of course I will. Night Astrid, sleep-"
Before I finished Astrid was already asleep, her head against my neck. I tightened my hold before closing my eyes and falling into a deep slumber.
Hey guys, sorry it's so short. I hopeyou liked it!
Any of you read Percy Jackson? IT'S AMAZING! I just finished The Lost Hero last night at like 1am and it really got me. Don't worry I won't spoil.
I suggest reading this series! First book is the lightning thief!
This chapter is a bit...weird. Oh well, I think it fits.
ANYWAY! Till next time...
