"Merida?!"
She turned and smiled at me, a bow slung over her shoulder. I glared at my father and Flynn.
I stomped over to them. "What is she doing here?" I hissed quietly. I turned and laughed slightly at Merida.
"That was the problem," Flynn whispered back. "She said she wouldn't leave until she saw you."
I smiled a fake smile. "What brings you here, Merida?" A wolf suddenly trotted through the kitchen and out the back door. I stared at it in shock.
Merida hadn't even flinched. "I'm here to talk to you. If you don't mind, could they be excused?" She gestured to my father and Flynn.
I shrugged. "I suppose."
Flynn, keep an eye on us. That's an order. Dad, just go to your room, please. They left the room slowly.
I folded my arms across my chest. "What do you want Merida?" I asked as soon as Flynn and my dad had left the room. I shifted uncomfortably on my feet as she stepped closer.
I could feel her breath on my face. It was warm.
"I needed to ask you something." I found Merida's face leaning closer towards my own.
I stepped back as Merida stepped forward. Then I was suddenly trapped, my back against the wall.
"Ask me then." My breathing quickened.
Merida came even closer. "It can wait," she said, planting her lips on mine. What angered my wolf is that I found myself kissing her back. A couple seconds later, I realised what I was doing so I pushed her away roughly.
"What the hell?" I shouted. "Why did you kiss me?!" I'm being honest, it felt good, for those seconds but Astrid's lips were so much softer, and gentle.
Merida's were rough and harsh. "I thought you wanted me to!"
"Of course not! I have a girlfriend! Whom, may I say, is in hospital!"
"So why did you kiss me back?!" Merida yelled.
I froze. Why did I kiss her back, even if it was for a couple of seconds? Oh gods, what have I done?! I started pacing, grumbling to myself.
Should I tell her? No, she'll get angry and she might . . . No, I can't even think about it. I don't want our relationship to end.
It's better than what I had with Merida. I just won't tell Astrid.
"Let's just pretend this never happened," I growled before storming out the room. I barged into Flynn on the way. Nobody can know about the kiss . . .
Wait . . . Flynn!
"I know what happened," he told me. "Don't worry, I won't tell Astrid. But Harry?" My best friend looked disappointed at me. "You shouldn't have kissed her back."
Flynn left as I stood, frozen in shock. I suddenly shifted into my wolf and stormed out of the house. I slammed my way through the fence, breaking it into pieces.
I kept running. Towards the woods. If I stayed there, it should calm me down.
After a while, I stopped running. I rounded a tree to see . . . Hiccup?
I yelped, jumping a few metres in the air. When I landed, I glared at him.
Don't do that.
Hiccup looked around cautiously. "That was your voice, talking in my head, right?" I nodded as he breathed a sigh of relief.
I looked around. Where's Ally? And Toothless?
