I absolutely fell in love with Kelly's chapter! I love writing this because I get to be a reader and an author all in one! :) ~ Arden
Jade's POV
I walk back to my compartment and sit back down at my spot. I pick up my notebook in hopes that they won't ask me anything but of course that doesn't happen. Someone tugs at my notebook and I assume it's Marlene.
I look up and see to my surprise it was Lily who took my notebook. I give her a curious look and she begins talking. "I'm sorry to be rude but what was that about?"
My cheeks were hot and I was just hoping that they wouldn't get bright red. "Oh, nothing important. Just some school stuff." that seemed to suffice for Lily but not for Marlene. "I don't believe that for a minute."
I fake laugh to see if it would make her give it up but it didn't. "She was way too excited for it to be nothing. And if it is in fact nothing why won't you tell us?" damn you I think. Could I find a way out of this one?
I stuck to the story. "I'll tell you. It's not a big secret or anything. She just wanted to tell me that she knew we would have some classes together." the lie worked perfectly too. we had barely any classes together last year so it would make sense that she'd be excited. I just had to hope that we actually had classes together.
"What classes?" asked Alice. She wasn't doing it to find out if I was telling the truth. She genuinely wanted to know. A pang of guilt came but I brushed it off. "I don't know. She didn't say." Marlene looked as if she wanted to say more but she didn't.
Lily gave me my notebook back with an apologetic look on her face. I knew her actions were because she wanted to know and because she wasn't too fond of Eve. Actually, that might have been the only person she didn't like. Of course she was never mean but she was a bit hostile towards her.
I turned to a new page in my notebook and began drawing something else. I wasn't too sure of what I was drawing until I actually thought about it. I was drawing Remus. I suddenly shut my note book and set it down. I didn't want to think about this right now.
So, I picked up a chocolate frog. "You're beginning your feast are you?" laughed Lily. I smiled and opened the frog. "Want the card Alice?" I didn't fancy collecting the cards and Alice didn't fancy eating the frogs so I would give her my cards. I knew she loved sorting and collecting these things but I didn't understand it.
"Who'd you get?" she asked peering over to look at the card. "Dumbledore again." I replied. She shook her head and I threw my card to the ground and ate the frog.
About five frogs in. I decided that I wanted to go sit with Eve and the rest. Lily, as always, understood. But of course Marlene didn't. "Why do you even talk to them?" she asked. I rolled my eyes at her then walked away with my things.
I opened there compartment and walked in. "Hey, the girls are being boring so I decided I'd come sit with you guys if that's all right." Sirius smiled and said "It's perfectly fine with Moony isn't it?" Remus looked over at Sirius with a death look and so did I. Sometimes he was funny but other times he was just insensitive.
I looked over at Eve who seemed really upset. More angry than sad though. Something had happened before I got there. I just sat with Eve, got out my notebook and wrote down the words what's wrong. Eve fiercely took the notebook and began writing.
"Bloody hell, they're doing it again." Sirius said throwing his hands up. Normally that would get a laugh but this time was different. "Shut the hell up, Sirius." said Eve. She didn't yell but she said it through gritted teeth, which seemed to scare the boys.
Then, the last person I would expect to speak spoke. Peter. "Just say it aloud. We all know what happened." Everybodys eyes shot up at him. "Fine." said Eve. "Well hell Peter. You've done it now." said James. Eve didn't look at anyone in particular as she spoke.
"Well, first of all Moony doesn't know how to keep his damn mouth shut." Remus was looking to the floor so he wouldn't make eye contact. "He knows I like a certain someone but can't keep his damn mouth closed." she begins to raise her voice and I whisper in her ear. "Calm down Eve. You're going to make everyone want to come over here." she takes a deep breath and doesn't say another word.
The tension in the room was horrid. I wanted to go back and sit with Lily and them but I knew that Eve would be pissed and that I couldn't leave her in here with them alone. After what seemed like an eternity, Sirius, being the talkative one, tried to break the tension. "So Moony, anything you would like to say?" he wasn't looking at Remus though. He was looking at me.
I wanted to yell at him. Tell him that he's the most insensitive person in the world. But I jut sat there looking at him with a blank stare. "No Padfoot, there's not." Remus sounded angry which startled me. He was never angry. I guess I was the only one who was startled because everyone else seemed completely unaffected by it.
I decided I'd try to break the tension instead of add on to it. "So, anyone excited for classes?" Nobody spoke except for Sirius. "I don't know, how about you Moony?" I couldn't take it anymore. "Alright that's enough Sirius." "Why? I haven't done anything at all" I charged at him and Remus instantly got up and restrained me.
"The girls are aggressive today aren't they?" Sirius was grinning ear to ear as he said it. I was struggling to get out of Remus's arms but despite how skinny he was he was strong.
Finally he let go and I sat down next to Eve again. I picked up my notebook and began drawing the scene. Remus holding me as I tried to get a hold of Sirius's throat, Peter cowering in the corner, and a startled James staring at it all.
When I finished we arrived at Hogwarts. We must have been the only unhappy ones. We all walked together though, in a simultaneous walk of anger.
