Chapter 34

Jade's POV

Sirius is furious with Eve. I don't even know what to say. This rage is scary.

"Sirius, nothing happened with Wood. Really." Sirius isn't believing it. "Really? Are you sure? I don't know what to say to you Eve. What can I do, really?" Eve is on the verge of crying and her voice is shaky.

"Sirius, I'm not lying to you. I wouldn't do that you know that. Why are you so" Sirius cuts her off. "I don't have to take this Eve. I'm going." Eve is almost crying. "Sirius please. I'm not lying. Sirius!" her pleads do nothing. He leaves and Eve starts to cry.

I run to her bed and start to console her. I turn and tell the boys "Go knock some sense into that insensitive bastard!" and they all leave without another word.

Eve was holding back but not anymore. Now she was bawling. "Oh Eve! I'm so sorry! This is all my fault! We were joking about you and Wood and it upset him! I'm so so sorry!" she stops it a little and says "It's okay. I just. I just don't know what to do." she stars bawling again.

"Shhhhhhh." I say as I hug her. It works and she's able to talk again. "So what happened?" she sniffles and sits up. "Well, I was playing quidditch and decided I was done so I was walking back and my cut stared acting up is I was falling and I guess I broke my leg in the process."

oh no. Of course this has to be my fault. I can't believe this. I feel awful! "Oh Eve! I'm so sorry! This is all my fault! I should've known Re- he would attack." I didn't want to call the werewolf Remus because he's not Remus. The werewolf is a werewolf and Remus is Remus.

I want to cry but I have to stay strong for Eve. I have to stay strong a lot these days. "No, no it's not. Nobody warned you about the attacks. We should've told you." We're both silent when, what do you know, Tyler Wood shows up.

"Eve, what's wrong?" I'm livid. "You! You couldn't leave her alone could you? What is wrong with you! You insensitive bastard! How could you do something like this?!" Wood gets defensive.

"Hey, woah! I'm not the one who yelled at her am I? I'm not the one who decided to hang out with me. As much as you hate me you can't say it was my fault." I take a deep breath and let it out. He was right. This wasn't his fault. I wish it was but it wasn't.

"Whatever Wood. Just go. And if later you want to tell us that you are in love with Eve you can do that but for now, please leave." Wood smiled at me charmingly and said "Sure." and walked away.
