Jade's POV
I left and walked down the halls with my head down, tears silently and slowly falling down my cheeks. I was so mad about Sirius being so persistent on Eve but now that he isn't doing that anymore... It's like some sick cosmic joke. Doing that to Sirius. He's like my brother.
I look up and see that I had ended up in the astronomy tower. I wiped my tears with the end of my sleeve and tried to stop. Before, I thought that I just didnt want to cry in front of Sirius but really, I didn't want to cry in front of myself either. I was trying to prove to myself that I was strong. "Hey." a voice startled me. I turned around to find Remus leaning in the doorway. And for once he didn't look awkward. He looked... Normal. "Hi." I tried to keep my voice from wavering but you could still hear a hint of it. "It's okay to cry, Jade. I know you're strong." Remus knew me so well it broke me down.
I threw myself into his arms for stability more than comfort and began bawling into his shoulder. "I... Hate... It...." I said between sobs. "I know. I know darling, I know." he whispered in a soothing voice. I sobbed until all of my tears dried up. I kept my hold on him even when I stopped crying. "Remus?" I whispered into his shoulder. "Yeah?" he whispered back. "I think Eve broke Sirius." he squeezed me tighter and I remembered, he feels the same way I do.
"You know, sometimes I forget that you're hurting too." he kissed my forehead. "I'm happy to put it all aside for you." I looked up at him astonished at his statement. He was willing to do so much for me. Put all of his emotions, everything he's feeling aside, for me. I got on my tiptoes and slowly closed the gap between our lips. He picked me up, my feet dangling and was kissing me back. He swung me around, then let me back to the ground. "I love you. I love you so much." I whispered. He softly smiled. "I love you too."
-Eve's POV-
I find a corner by a suit of armor and collapse. My breathing speeds up drastically and I let out a small whimper. Josh...he's never been like that before. Controlling and vindictive.
"Eve? Is that you?" A voice asks. "Yeah.." I mutter. "What happened Evie-bear?" I shake my head and cover my face. "Go away Prongs. I don't wanna talk." I look up at him. He has sorrow written all over his face. "Josh?" He guesses. I nod. "C'mon Eve, you know you can tell me anything." I shake my head and let the tears lightly fall. "O-okay..." I mutter. "But you can't tell anybody." Then I launch into my tale.
After I'm done, James hugs me. "Eve... I can't let you keep going on like this." I look up at him. "What do you want me to do? Break up with him?" "Yes!" I sigh. "You don't understand. I can't do that. " "what? Why not?" "H-he'll hurt Sirius if I do. He'll think I left him for Sirius." He smirks. "Well isn't that what kind of happened?" I look at him, shocked. He grins at me. I put my finger to my lips. "Shhhhh..."?
