Jades POV
When I asked about being an animagus I didn't really think they'd say yes. I was all ready to fight but then they say, "It starts at midnight." I sit there for a moment staring and then say "Great!" and start taking piles of bacon.
"Hey, I want some too!" says Eve. As if she didn't have enough bacon! "You heard Wood, they need a slim seeker. And guess what? I'm not a seeker!" I start taking more bacon. In fact, more than I needed. "Just because you're a beater doesn't mean you can be fat either!" says Wood.
"Oh please Wood, since when have you ever watched your weight?" he smirks. "I have a high metabolism." I roll my eyes. "I doubt it." I say. Then he smiles at me and walks away to go sit with his friends. Remus looked at my plate and said "Nice egg to bacon proportion." I look down at it. I have three eggs and sixteen pieces of bacon. "I agree." I say smiling.
I get a look from Eve and I roll my eyes. She couldn't keep herself under control could she? I see a hand seeking over to my food and I slap it really hard. I look over to see who it is. It was of course Marlene. She was holding on to her hand.
"The bloody hell was that?" she said. James smiled and replied. "You may not want to mess with her, she's a feisty one." I push on his shoulder. "Shut up." I relied which made him laugh a little. "What is it?" I ask Marlene. "Lily wants you to sit with us." she said with a hand on her hip. I could tell she wouldn't have even dreamed of coming over here if Lily hadn't told her to do so. I thought of looking over at Eve but I knew she was going to have a deadly look on her face.
"Tell her I'm going to sit over here for today." Marlene left without any further questions. "How relieved are you on a scale of one to ten?" joked Sirius. Eve took both hands and pushed him but he kept his ground. "Shut up padfoot! You're so annoying!" she crossed her arms and Sirius laughed. I hadn't realized I ate all of my bacon but Remus certainly had.
"Bloody hell Jade! You ate all of that bacon?" I looked down and saw that I had. "Yeah, guess so." That caused Sirius to laugh. "I guess we're gonna have to start calling you The Big Beater then huh?" that caused a roaring laughter with everyone in our group. "I guess, but I have a high metabolism." I replied mocking Tyler Wood. That caused even more laughter.
Finally it calmed down and James said, while pointing at Sirius and Eve, "You two sound like dogs!" Eve and Sirius look at each other and begin laughing again. They stop and I hear a boy walk up. Frank Longbottom. I turn around and he seems frozen. He was an awkward boy who either never really knew what to say or just couldn't make himself say the words.
I feel bad some because he's not good with words but mostly because all my friends are staring at him, so I speak first. "Hey Frank, how's the first day going so far?" he stand there for a moment then utters out the words. "Good, and yours?" I shrug. "Good as it can be I guess. Is there something you wanted to say?" I hoped he would be able to tell me whatever it was but he just said "Umm... uhh, no, there's nothing. Goodbye." and before I could say goodbye back he was racing back to his seat.
Then, what I knew what was coming all along came, Sirius's smart remark. "Good God Jade, do you have to make everyone fall in love with you?" that kind of shocked me because that was not what I was expecting. "What? What do you mean?" "The babbling idiot obviously has a thing for you." he said. Normally I would've defended Frank but I was too deep in thought to think about it.
"But Frank already has a girlfriend." said James. That made Sirius laugh. "So? That doesn't mean anything." I rolled my eyes. "Whatever Sirius," then I stopped talking because Dumbledore began speaking.
