Chapter 10

I loved Kelly's chapter!!!

Jade's POV

Remus, Peter, James, and I sit there in silent confusion. I couldn't process what exactly happened. Were they actually dating?

I hear something but ignore it. Then I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and look at James. We sit there for a minute then I say "What?" "I said, did you know about that?"

I shake my head and swallow. "Nope. Why would I know?" I tried not to sound defensive but I fail miserably. "Woah, calm down. Why so angry?" I roll my eyes. "I'm not mad." lying. More lying. But this group was better at catching lies.

"I don't believe that for a moment." it was Remus. "Not the best way to get the girl Moony." said James. At this point I just assumed they knew I knew. Nobody had to say it in front of the whole group. Remus brushed it off and turned back to his book to read.

"Why did you assume I knew?" I ask James. "Well, you're the girls in this circle I just assumed you told each other everything." So did I, I think. I try to shove the thought back. "I could think the same of you James. You and Sirius are pretty close." James looks to the ground.

I feel bad for doing that but he kind of deserved it. I mean, he did the same to me. But of course, the guilt beats the fact that he deserved it. "I know James. I feel the same way." I lay my hand on his shoulder. He looks up and smiles and I give him a hug. I sense Remus's discomfort and I let go of James.

"We should probably go find the lovers." I say. We walk out of the dining hall and through a couple of corridors and find Eve and Sirius laughing. "So, when exactly were you planning to tell anybody?" I asked. I meant for the question to be directed at both of them but my eyes lingered on Eve.

They both didn't seem to know what to say. But Eve spoke. "That was just Sirius protecting me." she said plainly. "That kiss seemed pretty real to me." said James. Remus and Peter tried to avoid having to speak in this conversation what so ever.

"I was really just trying to protect her, James. What else could you think?" Sirius directed the statement at James but my temper loved to speak. "I don't know, maybe something to do with the other night." Sirius threw his hands up as if to say well now you've done it and Eve began to speak.

"Don't you think i would've said something? I don't lie to you Jade." and I could tell she meant the words. This was not some cover up for a scandalous relationship. This was a stupid fight between a bunch of friends who obviously have a lot of trust issues.

We sit there silent for a moment. I'm the first to speak. "I'm sorry. That was way out of line. My anger... it gets the best of me much too often doesn't it?" Eve nods then hugs me. She shoves me away from her and says "Yeah, it does you babbling idiot." I laugh.

"So, you know you're still love birds according to the entire school right?" says Remus. "We better get uses to this my little love muffin." says Sirius, pulling her to him by her waist. She shoves him away and says "Never call me that again. If anything, I'm a honey bear." We all begin to laugh as we walk away to go to our rooms.
