Chapter 70

-Eve's POV-

Sirius and I are sitting in the common room, 'studying', when Jade whizzes by with a distraught look on her face. "Jade?" She whips around. "Are you okay?" She smiles fakely "yeah! I'm good." Then she runs off to look for Moony.

Sirius and I look at each other. "Wonder what's wrong with her..." I mutter. Sirius squeezes my shoulder, "she'll be fine, love, but if you want go talk to her." I think about it. "No. I'll talk to her later...." I turn back to my History of Magic notes. "Why do we have to know which witch made the 76th broomstick?" I groan and bury my face in my book. Sirius laughs. "Do you need help?" I look up at him and nod sadly. "How do you remember this stuff?" He shakes his head, chuckling. "I go to class."

After hours of studying just about every class, it's Remus,Jade, Sirius, and me, sitting in the common room. "James! Peter! Get your arses down here!" I yell after a while of silence. They come stumbling down the stairs. "What?" James asks groggily. I smile sweetly at him. "I was bored." I say simply. He raises an eyebrow at me. "So I'm here to entertain you?" Sirius coughs from beside me. "Actually I think that's my job" he smirks. I cover my face "I hate all of you...except Wormtail. He's my favorite now." "What's I do?" Jade asks, clearly amused. "The comment yesterday..." Comprehension dawns on her face and she laughs. "So now wormy is my favorite. C'mon peter. We're gonna go prank people without them!" I laugh and start walking across the common room. "Eveeee" Sirius groans "take me with you! I don't want to be stuck with them alone! Plus I'll miss you!" I laugh and say "Just kiss prongs." James puckers his lips jokingly and I giggle. "Now c'mon peter! We've got pranks to plan!" Then I hop out the common room.

Jade's POV

I've been biting my lip nervously ever since it happened. What kind of curse has been put on us? As soon as things get better, something has to happen to make everything spiral out of control! And that is precisely the reason I must keep my mouth shut. As soon as I left Wood I went in search for Remus. Not for the original reason, studying, but so I could make sure.... I'm not sure what it was that needed reassurance exactly. I guess I just needed something... Normal. I find Remus at a desk, studying and grab his hands pulling him up from his desk. I then get on my tip toes and kiss him.

"What was that for?" he smiled, happy from the abrupt event. "No reason." I lied but smiled because of the warm feeling his kiss gave. "You okay love?" he asked "Course. Why wouldn't I be?" playing Remus like this, it just felt fully and completely wrong. Every nerve, every instinct in my body, told me not to. But I did it anyways, because I couldn't hurt anyone else but myself. Not all truth needs to be told.

It was then that Eve called us all to her and we went off with Peter to pull some pranks. I try to keep my mind focused on the task at hand, but it's just too hard. I couldn't keep my mind off of Tyler Wood. He liked me and he told me at the worst possible time. Not only is it lodged in my brain, but it will probably stay there so I will never be able to properly study for my owl exams and never become anything.

"Hey Jade! You there?" it was Eve waving her hand in front of my eyes. "Yeah. What's the plan?" I ask half heartedly but Eve brushes it off. "I have to explain it again?!" I rolled my eyes. "Yes, you do Eve. Explain." she groaned and explained the plan again, although I hardly listened.
