-Eve's POV-
After I introduce Josh to Jade and Remus we head off to the dance floor.
"Your friends seem nice" he says, grinning at me. "Yeah, they're awesome, but they aren't the ones you should be worried about." He raises and eyebrow questioningly.
"James is super overprotective, and Siri-nevermind."
"No. What was it?" He asks, tilting my chin up with his index finger.
"It's nothing, I promise." I say, turning my head away from him. "But since you met my friends do I get to meet yours?"
He laughs "you want to meet a bunch of slytherins?"
"You met a bunch of Gryffindors.." I point out.
"Yeah but my friends aren't the nicest people in the world..."
"Well then I'll meet them later. Wanna go get some punch?"
We get punch and are talking and laughing about who knows what when I hear a familiar and joking voice say "Evie...aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?"
I laugh.
"Josh this is James. James, josh."
James looks him over for a moment then raises an eyebrow. "So you're the Slytherin...." By now I'm got my hands covering my face and hiding my embarrassment.
Finally James laughs and I uncover my face. He gives me a thumbs up and grins. "He's got my stamp of approval, Evie"
I laugh and turn to josh "I'm so sorry about him."
"Hey!" James says, offended "I can hear you!"
"That was kinda the point" I sing, and I hear a feminine voice laugh. I turn around and see Jade and Remus come up behind us.
"Hey guys!" James exclaims and grins at Evans that I just noticed.
"Okay well Josh do you want to go, before the whole gang gets here?" I ask. He nods, sensing my anxiety.
We make for the door leading to the grounds but then someone says my name. But that voice...I'd know that voice anywhere.
"What do you want, Black?" I snarl.
Jade's POV
"Where's Sirius?" I say nervously. Remus smiles. "I'm sure he's fine. He's not your problem." the thing is he wasn't the one I was worried about... He's going to do something stupid. He always does. I just give him a weak smile. People were dancing but Remus and I weren't very good at dancing so we decided to keep off the floor. I started to scan the floor for Sirius. I saw Lily dancing with James. She was having a good time. No matter what she wants people to think she likes him.
I was smiling at them when I hear Eve. "What's wrong with you?" I turn and see Sirius with his wand out. As an instinct, I run over there. "What's going on?" I say. Josh speaks. "He tried to hex me!" I push him to the wall. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you insane?!" I have a hold of his shoulders, pushing them as hard as I can against the wall. "Jade, that hurts." says Sirius. "Well good! I'm glad! You need to stop being an insane dunce!" I threw back my leg and kicked him in the shin. "Jade!" exclaimed Remus but I didn't care. I was done with him anyways. I pushed him away. "Go." he stayed there staring at me. "Go!" I said louder. "Just leave." and he left.
I had my hand across my eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder and assumed it was Remus. I heard the voice and it wasn't. "You're my favorite." I looked up and it was Josh, grinning ear to ear. I sighed. "Thanks." he took his hand back and Eve went to his side. "Hey, you can't date a beautiful girl and expect her not to have an insane ex." said Josh, making Eve blush. "You're pitifully charming for a Slytherin." she said. He just shrugged and flashed her a charming smile.
"Sorry. I was looking for him. I-I should've gotten to him before he got out his wand." Eve laughed. "Jade, you don't have to babysit him." I shrugged. I felt like if I didn't he'd burn down the whole school. I'm not sure if he was insane or passionate. I suppose they're the same thing sometimes. "Yeah, that's James job." I smiled weakly at Remus. "Well, we're going to go. See you later." and with that Eve was gone.
