Chapter 16

Jade's POV

After classes I lose Remus so I could go talk to Eve. I needed a break from racing heart and butterflies. I find her with, of course, Sirius.

I walk up to them tearing them apart from each other. "Sirius I need to talk to Eve alone for a moment so why don't you just go hang out with the boys now?" Sirius charmingly smiles and says "Your wishes shall come true madam." and he bows. I roll my eyes at him while he chuckles and then he walks away.

"Okay, Eve, I need to talk to you." I say while standing in front of her with my hands grabbing her shoulders. We step off to the side of the hall while we talk so others may pass through.

"Okay, so you know how me and Remus..." I wasn't sure how to complete the sentence because I wasn't sure if we were actually dating. I mean yes we held hands and wrapped our arms around each other but we weren't necessarily dating.

"Well yeah! When did he ask you?" I stop for a moment thinking of how to explain then finally start speaking. "Well, he didn't necessarily ask. I fell in the hallway and I asked why he kind of panicked instead of laughed and...." I didn't want to finish the sentence really.

"And what? Jade Evertell, sometimes you drive me insane!" I sigh and then finish my sentence. "He told me I was perfect and he was afraid I'd break like a porcelain doll." Eve puts her hands on her cheeks and pouts her lip. "Awwwwwwwww... that's the cutest thing I've ever heard!"

I shrug not knowing what else to do. "Yeah, and then he helped me up and I just started to hold his hand and everything just sort of happened." "That's the most adorable thing I've ever heard!" and then Eve shoves me into a hug. I hug her back then pull her away from me.

"But... there's a problem." Eve sighs then says "Jade, does there always have to be a problem with you?" I shrug then say "Apparently so. The thing is, I'm not sure if we're actually dating." wait, no. That's not what I was going to ask. What I was supposed to say was that I wasn't sure if I actually liked him like that. I've been rattling that question around in my head all day.

"Well, I'm pretty sure you are. But if you really want to know wait and see if Moony asks you to Hogsmeade or something." I use the end of my hand to hit my forehead. Of course! Why hadn't I thought of that? "Thanks Eve! You're the best." I hug her then go to go find Remus.

I really wanted to spend time with him. I recognize the back of his head and run at him to run and jump on his back. I get on his back but the element of surprise pushes us forward and he ends up falling. He groans then turns to see it's me.

He laughs then says "Jade, are you trying to kill me?" I laugh and then say while getting up "Why of course not! If I was trying to kill you I would've succeeded." By the end of the sentence I was on my feet and helping Remus up.

I hadn't noticed until he spoke but Sirius was here. "Ah, young love." he says jokingly. I lace my finger's with Remus's and then say "I could say the same about you and Eve."

for the first time in a while, the charming, dashing Sirius was speechless and more awkward than ever.

I bend down and pick up Remus's book, with his hand still in mine, and walk off with Remus to our next class.
