-Eve's POV-
Sooo back at the castle there's lots of whispering. That's really all I hear. And since I now have no friends I'm forced to be a loner. Either that or a gossipy bitch....but whatever.
"Eve!" Some dirty blonde haired girl who apparently knows me shouts "Dumbledore approved the Halloween ball!"
I smile and sarcastically say "that's AWESOME.... ha. Haha." Then walk to the library for some quietness. I know, surprising isn't it. Eve. And quietness. Don't judge...I'm in a bad mood.
So I sit at a table in the library and start writing my history of magic paper on famous goblins. Someone sits opposite me and I'm praying that it isn't Sirius and luckily, it isn't. It's some Slytherin guy.
"Hi.." He mutters, seeing me looking at him.
"Hi..." I say grouchily.
I start writing again and groan, putting my head in my hands.
"What're you working on?" He asks, unusually cheery for a Slytherin.
"History of Magic...it's so stupid!!!" This makes the guy laugh. He's got a nice laugh.
"It really isn't. Are you any good at potions?" This time I force a laugh.
"What year are you?"
"Sixth"
"You expect me to do sixth year potions?"
"What? The great Eve Jacobs can't handle a challenge?" The boy mocks.
"Challenge accepted..." I pause, waiting for him to say his name
"Josh Erie"
"Well Erie, you don't know what you just got yourself into.." I grin. "Now help me and I'll help you!"
Jade's POV
We enter the Gryffindor common room and Lily runs up to me. "Jade! There's going to be a Halloween Ball! Isn't this exciting?" I smile. "We're always the last to know everything!" exclaims James. "That's cool Lily." I say, half heartedly. I didn't care much for dances.
"It's a costume party! What are you going to be Jade?" oh, no. I was going to have to go now, wasn't I? "Oh, Lily... I don't know. You know daces aren't my thing. I mean-" "Oh, please say you'll come Jade! Please, please, please!" I smiled. "Alright, alright I'll go." I lean in and whisper "But you have to take James as your date." she sighs. "Oh, fine." and I walk off to sit on an open chair. Remus comes and lays his hand on top of mine. I look up at him. "I have to go to that ridiculous dance now." Remus shrugged. "You should've told her to do something or else you wouldn't go." I gave a sly smile. "You think I didn't?" he returned my smile. "What'd you do?" "Let's just say James totally owes me one."
I stand up and hug Remus. He hugs me back but asks "What was that for?" I shrugged. "I need emotional support." he smiled and kissed my forehead. He probably thought it was a joke about having to go to the dace, but it wasn't. I felt bad for Sirius. He was going to be miserable. Especially with all the girls asking him. "Hey, I've got to do something I'll be back." I walk away from Remus to Sirius who's pouting in a chair.
"Hey, are you okay?" he shrugs. "I can't stand the thought that Eve's going to go to the ball with someone that's not me." "You know you could go with someone too. All the girls want to go with you." he looked at me with his eyebrows raised. "I know you know that was a dumb thing to say." I laughed. "I know. You might want to go into the boys bed rooms before girls start asking." with that he stood up and hustled out of the room.
