Chapter 37

Jade's POV

Wood walks in and sits in an empty chair. We're silent as our eyes follow him. I loathed Wood. Just his presence angered me. "Hello." he says as we glare at him. I didn't even know what to say to this. "Hey." I'm the first to respond. After that the rest mumble. It's silent for moments longer until Wood speaks.

"Okay, I'm going to address the elephant in the room. Sirius, I promise you that I have no romantic feelings toward Eve. And if I ever find myself in the position I promise I won't go after her." Eve looks surprised but Sirius has a fantastic poker face. Finally, after another moment of silence Sirius responds. "Thank you Wood."

Woah, wait a minute. Did I just hear Sirius Orion Black say thank you to someone? I guess I did because he's shaking Woods hand as if they just made a deal and it seemed like they had.

Another weird thing was the way Wood was acting. He was being nice and respectful and not at all like the Wood I loathe. Wood looks at me and smiles charmingly at me. Then walks over to talk to me.

I feel Remus's arm tense up since it's wrapped around me. I grab his hand and squeeze it to assure him that I'm fine. "Now do you believe me?" he says and I shrug. "I guess I have to now, now don't I?" he smiles and looks at me for a moment.

I wasn't sure what to do. Wood's been acting weird lately and I didn't know why. Everything was just very weird. "You seemed distracted at the game today. What's going on?" it surprised me that he asked but it surprised me more that he asked it like I told him things all the time.

I looked at him with questioning then said "Nothing. I just had a lot on my mind at the moment that's all." He nods then looks towards the floor. "Well, I was thinking you might want some extra practice time considering you almost messed up." I laugh. I was going to practice extra but I didn't plan on asking Wood for help."Okay Wood. I'll practice. Tomorrow during free period?" I ask. he nods and says "Okay, that works. See you then." then he walks back into his room.

"You're not actually going to go are you?" says Remus. This day is just full of surprises isn't it? "Well yeah, why not?" Remus shrugs and says "Nothing, just for get it." I roll my eyes. "If you're really that worried about it then just come with me. But there isn't anything to be worried about. I could kick his ass easier than I could my own grandma and she's in a wheelchair." that causes everyone to laugh." No, it's fine. I don't care." I smile and peck his lips.

"Wow." says James silently but I still hear him. I turn and look at him. "What?" I asked. He looked at me and said "I can't believe that you are dating him." We all start to laugh except for Remus who says "Well why not?" I kiss his cheek as James began explaining.

"Well, first if we look at all of Jade's past boyfriends you obviously don't fit the criteria. I mean, she dates the kind of guys who are charming and handsome and well, will try and suck her face off" everybody laughs and I say "Hey!" and James continues.

"Also, I've never seen her date one complete nerd. I mean, you practically live in the Hogwarts library! And third, Jade doesn't commit and Remus, sometimes you commit a little to much." we laugh a little and I realize that James is absolutely right. I don't date guys like Remus. But now I am and it makes me happy.

"Well, what about Eve and Sirius?" James and Remus laugh and Remus says "Oh come on Jade, I'm pretty sure we all saw that coming." and we laugh the entire time afterwards.
