Chapter 30

Hey guys, I've been having a rough couple of days so I'm sorry if this sucks.

-Eve's POV-

I see Jade change for the first time and even as a little black bear I can see the fear in her eyes as Remus changes. I don't know if she'll be able handle it.

I change into a huge golden retriever and see Sirius turn into his big bear-like dog. I then see James turn into a stag and Peter into a rat.

Remus, in werewolf form of course, charges Jade who doesn't see it coming.

I run and slam my body into his,knocking him down in the process. He turns on me and I run out of the shrieking shack, him chasing after me.

Suddenly, I turn on him and pounce. Unfortunately, he's expecting it and slashes his claws along my stomach, causing 4 deep gashes to form. I drop to the ground. Sirius, seeing me hurt, runs at Remus and scratches his face. Remus abruptly turns his attention to James, who, being a lot bigger than us, fights him back.

I try to get up of the ground but I can't. Remus has never made this deep of a gash before, and I can tell I'm really hurt.

Sirius, seeing Remus distracted, quickly turns human and picks me up and runs up to castle. As soon as he puts me down I change back into a human too. He lifts up my shirt, showing my stomach. I see him flinch.

"H-how bad is it?" I ask weakly.

"I-it's okay." He lies.

"Don't lie. How bad is it?"

"Its..uh...it's bad" he whispers

Jade's POV

I see Eve with Sirius struggling to get up and I run up to her. I realize I'm still a bear and change back as quickly as I can. "Eve! I'm so sorry! I should've expected that! I should've known! I- I"

she cuts me off. "Jade." I nod "Yeah?" "Shut up and get me to the hospital wing." Sirius and I help Eve up and basically carry her. Her arms were wrapped around us and she was fairly short so her legs were dangling.

I held in my tears, not only because I didn't want them to see me cry, but also because it would be stupid. Stupid because I'm not the one with the practically deadly scars. I'm not the werewolf who accidentally hurts people because they can't control themselves. I'm nothing but the silly girl who didn't know what she was doing and almost had somebody killed because of it.

So I just walk her to the hospital wing, feeling like a silly reckless girl, who should've never done anything.

We walk into the hospital wing and no one is there. "Great. What are we supposed to do now?" I didn't know anything about healing. Once again, I'm useless.

"Hand me that." Eve points to some gauze and a bottle with clear fluid in it. I immediately pick them up and shove them into her hands. Not like I had much of an option. Eve struggles to pull the cork off the bottle but does it.

She starts to pour the liquid on her cuts and I stop her. "What are you doing?" I whisper scream. "Jade, I know what I'm doing. Remember second year when we snuck in here and looked through everything?" I nodded and slowly give her back the bottle. I remembered that pretty clearly.

We were bored and just started roaming the castle. She must've picked up a thing or two. After she was done with the liquid Sirius helped her wrap the guaze around her abdomen. I felt stupid for not trying to help.

We get her out of bed and she's significantly better. The cuts must've not been as bad as I thought. We walk into our room and Eve changes out of her bloody clothes. I start to get into my bed but Eve stops me.

"You can go stay with Moony. It's okay. I'll be fine." I shake my head. "It's obviously better that I stay in here." she looks at me and looks as if she wants to say something but she doesn't.

I see that she's slowly sitting so I help her into bed. Then I lay in my bed. I don't sleep though. I think about my pathetic moment that could've cost a life.
