Jade's POV
Classes go by quickly and free period is here so I have to go to the quidditch field. I still didn't like Wood all that much but it's gotten better since last night. As I'm walking down the corridors Eve walks up beside me ans says "Hey." "Hey,I'm going to the quidditch field remember?" I say. I'm sure she was planning on walking back to the commons so she could chat with the boys and I but she stays with me. "I know, I'm coming with you."
I stop and give her a strange look. Why would she want to come to the quidditch field with me? Yes, she loves the game but she was acting so peculiar. I can't quite put my finger on it...
"What?" she says, interrupting my thoughts. I shrug and say "Nothing let's go." and we begin walking to the field again. I wanted to think she was coming to the field because she loved the sport but I wouldn't let myself think the easy thing because it didn't seem like the right answer.
My thoughts cease when I hear Wood say "Hey!" and realize we're on the quidditch field. He looks happy and then I see... A flash of disappointment maybe but I couldn't tell because it faded away quickly.
"Hey Eve. Didn't realize you were to be joining us." Eve smiles and says "Yeah, I decided I had some things I needed to work on myself so I came." she grabs a broom off the rack of spares and begins to talk away when Tyler says "You didn't bring your broom Eve?" she hesitates for a moment then says "I forgot it in the room and don't feel like getting it."
Wood and I look at each other with a confused look on each of our faces. Eve has never forgotten her broom. It's her pride and joy, it's basically her baby! I shake my head as if trying to shake away the confusion and say "Okay. Um, let's start practice." I have my broom with me. It's an older Clean sweep but it's reliable so I use it. I fly up and Wood comes with me.
He's right next to me and he's about to say something when Eve flies straight in between us causing Wood to almost fall over. Wood looks a her as if she's mad but says nothing. He just shakes his head and begins telling me whatever he was trying to say before.
"You need to strengthen your stance. You nearly fell from your broom the other day! You have to remember to tuck your legs in." I begin doing so and he shakes his head. "No no no. Not like that. Like this." Wood flies over to position my legs correctly but Eve swoops in before he can.
"I'll show her Wood." he seems frustrated but says "Are you sure? Do you know how?" he asks "I think got it." she says and swiftly tucks my legs in, which was almost exactly how I had them before. I expected Wood to say she did it wrong, considering he said I was wrong before but he doesn't. He just says "Good." and quickly moves on.
The rest of practice was Wood telling me to change my stance and Eve immediately changing me without giving me a chance to do it myself. The last time Wood tells me to change my arms I turn to Eve and say "Let me change okay? Don't touch me this time." she looks as if she wants to disagree with me but instead says "Okay." and I change my arms.
Wood says I'm wrong and moves my arms with his hands. "Like this." he says and just sits there with his hands resting on my arms. It becomes too long and I brush his hands off.
"Okay, well we got to go. Thanks for the lesson." I say then immediately fly down, feeling angry at Wood. I'm familiar with that but this time's different. This time I don't even know why I'm angry.
