Later that Evening

"This is a fucken disaster!" I yelled into Pepper's ear, hoping she heard me over the noise, as bodies of dozens of people bumped into Pep and I, "and who the hell are all these people!? Where's security?!" I added angrily.
"I have no idea! But everyone had an invitation, and Tony overrode Hap's decision to stop letting people in!" She squawked, and waved her hand around the loud room.
By the time I arrived, at eight, Tony's Malibu home was already filled to the brim with strangers, and I was taken aback by the sheer numbers and absolute chaos.
Scantily clad women, sharply dressed men and alcohol filled almost every single space on the main floor, and began trickling upstairs to the viewing room. Half empty glasses of champagne had already begun to dot every surface in the living room, while the side dishes and food started to make their way onto the floor. The dark lighting, and strobe lights from the DJ, made my skin itch, and the overall energy in the room was manic, forcing more anxiety onto my shoulders. The DJ's music blasted through the room and shook the ground I was standing on. Most of the people here were already belligerent, doing things, I'm sure they didn't do in their own homes, or numerous clubs in LA, and my body tensed with anxiety.
A few men tried to offer us a drink while Pepper and I stood near the front door, but I flashed my angry eyes, until they scurried away.
For thirty more minutes I tried to calm down, and breathe through the sweat and angst in the air, but the longer I watched these people, and the amount of alcohol making it's way around the room, the more worried I became.
The conversation I had with James, just hours earlier, razed across my mind and chest, urging me to go upstairs and talk to Tony before he finally made an entrance, but I stayed near Pepper, only becoming more dejected, and uneasy as the noise seemed to get louder.
My hands and feet began to twitch, and burn, setting off my internal alarms, but it was the impending shadow already hanging over the room, that forced me to finally take a step to the stairs laying twenty feet away.
Something was wrong here, really wrong.

"If something happens tonight, James will come in and take a suit, he's under orders, and I can't stop him," I reminded Pep, already knowing we probably wouldn't be coming out of this unscathed.
"That's why we're here, to make sure that doesn't happen," she replied, and gave me a sad smile. Her half assed smile told me she knew just as I did, that the chances of something happening was a definite possibility, considering the happenings from the last few weeks.
"I sent Natalie to go get Tony, almost ten minutes ago," Pepper muttered harshly, following me towards the spiral staircase that led to Tony's room, "did you see the dress she had on?"

"I'm sure she can handle it!" I yelled, eyeing three blonde women open numerous bottles of champange, and tried to ignore the anger in her voice, "maybe we should go up there and try to talk to him, this is too much..."
"Oh no, this.." she whined, and looked upstairs.

I looked up and saw Tony stumbling upstairs in the viewing room, in an immaculate dark purple Gorgio suit, already causing a ruckus, but he pulled Natasha to his side, and let one of his suit repulsars slide over her left hand. He was showing her how to use it and holding her close to his body, laughing, as people crowded around them.
Nat's eyes met mine and the look she gave me was one of "see, I told you something was off,", but I was more worried about the suit, and the dozens of civilians around us.

"Is he drunk already, Nat said he was fine about an hour ago?" I questioned, and tilted my head up at Natasha. More women began flocking towards him, yelling and screaming for him, but my earlier question was answered when he began stumbling down the stairs, with a bottle already in his hand, and gyrating against most of the women waiting for him, "we're so fucked, what's wrong with him? You think you can get him back upstairs while I get everyone out of here?" I questioned as Tony called for the rest of his suit, laughing and dancing around like some drunken moron, "oh shit...we need to stop this now..before he hurts someone, or himself..Tony? Hey..Tony?!" I demanded as he nearly ran into me.
