"Let's do this Cap before they know we're here," I urged, steadying my breathing while we slipped into one of the many escape tunnels burrowed under the Treskilion.
Fury had given us a small map of the few undisclosed tunnels that had been built during the Cold War, it was one of the reasons SHIELD had chosen the spot to build in, in the first place.
We finally came to a stop at the last door, which we hoped would lead us onto the floor above the garage, near the storage units, and away from agents. I readjusted my knives and, checked the two guns I had holstered in my belt, along with the one tucked into my shoulder holster.
"You ready?" Steve asked, and held up the access card, Fury gave him, between us.
"Hopefully that card your Director gave you still works," Sam added, coming up behind me.
"I'm ready," I whispered, and gave him a nod.
"Alright, here we go," Steve stated, before he swiped the card and we slipped quietly in between boxes of old file cases and equipment, heading as quickly and quietly as we could towards the carrier docks.
I sent a small prayer up to the ceiling, praying for strength, for courage, and to let whatever Fury, and my grandmother believed ran through my veins, see my through to the end.

"Teolt nenemia ne (goddess walk with me)," I whispered to myself, while I quietly followed behind Sam and Steve, "xinechmaca chicahualiz (give me your strength)."
"What're you whispering?" Sam asked, but my eyes were closed and I was concentrating on the brush of whispers, and rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. The heavy shadow was there, engulfing my body, but it was different than before. It didn't scare me, but urged me forward into the fight waiting for us.
"(Y/n)?" Steve called out.
My head cleared and I opened my eyes, "it's time.."
"Wow, that's pretty cool," Sam mentioned, and waved a hand towards my face.
"We need to warn our agents," Steve murmured, pausing at one of the unmanned computer stations, while he too, fixated on my face.
"If you do that, those carriers will be launched, and Natasha could be compromised," I growled, continuing forward. I leaned against one of the grey walls which separated us from agents who walked by the tinted windows, "you said we wouldn't salvage what was left, SHIELD goes down too."
"Good people may die (y/n), and the soldiers we have left will fight," Steve lamented, flipping a switch and taking a breath, "attention all SHIELD agents, this is Steve Rogers. I'm sure you've heard a lot about me and a few of my friends over the last few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt us down, but I think it's time to tell the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was. It's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The SPEC OP's and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more there are, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you, and they almost have what they want. Absolute control. They shot Nick Fury, but it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high. It always has been, but it's a price I'm willing to pay, and if I'm the only one, then so be it, but I'm willing to bet I'm not."
It wasn't long before yells and gunfire began to sound throughout the building, echoing off the walls.
"Goddamnit, see now thanks to your good ol' boy shit, and speeches, they know we're here, let's move now!" I yelled, shaking my head, and rushing forward.
I brandished my sidearm and followed Steve through the chaos, towards the hangars. My heartbeat sped even faster as we stepped over downed bodies of agents, HYDRA, SHIELD, we'll probably never know, but my anger raged at the amount of blood and bodies that drenched the hallways.

After forty-five seconds of running, and trying to stay alive, we burst onto the docks, where there were still two carriers waiting for lift off.
I clicked my earpiece, "be advised we already have a carrrier in the air, I guess we'll take that one last," I announced hurriedly.
"We separate here, go now!" Steve yelled, pushing me towards one of the carriers, "Sam get into the air!"
I ran through the chaos, undeterred by the six agents I dropped along the way. I didn't recognize any of them, but by the way they tried to fill me full of holes, spoke to where the allegiance layed. I slipped over the rails, finally making it up to one of the loading docks, only to be stopped by Rumlow.
We both paced along the metallic mesh, while I smiled, unrelenting in my path, not when I knew we stood between the world, and Hydra.
