I came home three hours later to an empty tower, and empty bed, more unnerved from training than I already was. I didn't even take off my sweaty uniform as I climbed into Tony's bed, just so I could smell him, and pulled the blankets over my head. The cold sheets helped soreness radiating over my body, but did little to alleviate the questions, and my loneliness. My hand hurt, and the swelling made it hard to clench at anything, but I squeezed Tony's pillow as hard as I could.
"Tony..." I whispered, but the only answer I received was my struggle to breathe.

Three Hours Earlier

"Okay one more time, then we'll call it quits," Steve declared, and eyed the shield in my hands. I'd grabbed it after it lodged into one of the walls, and used it to keep the Rhodes's non-lethal blasts from hitting me, "this time, Wanda, I want you to use your powers in full, just like we practiced."
He put his hand up and his shield flew out of my hands into his.
"I think we won that round," Nat surmised, and kneeled down on the mat.
The large room we were in, was the size of a football field, and set up like one. Steve's team tried to reach the objective behind us, while our own objective was set up at the other end. Dummies and other obstacles dotted the grounds, along with a few booby traps. It was different, but allowed Wanda, Sam and Rhodes to maneuver, and use their abilities without burden.

"Yep, both rounds. We're on it today," Sam laughed, and landed next to Steve.
"We'll see," Rhodes taunted, and winked at Wanda. Magic flowed over her fingers, and a small smile peppered her lips.
I glanced at Natasha and moved to the other side of her, lining up with Wanda, shuddering with fatigue and constant fluctuations of adrenaline. "Sam, I need you to stay behind Natasha and me, keep Rhodes in the air, if you have the shot, send Cap's shield into the wall. I wanna take on Wanda this time. I'm tired of seeing Nat's ass dangling in the air," I ordered, and shook out my prickling hands.
"Sounds like a plan," he grinned, and took a running start to get into the air.
"Let's do this," Nat scoffed, and got up off the floor.
"Don't look so enthused cectpa," I snickered, and focused on the prize sitting behind Steve and Wanda.
"I'm not, I'm hungry and bored," she quipped, but released her batons, just as Cap burst forward.
My vision tunneled and focused on Wanda as Nat met Cap head on, and Wanda floated into the air. I forged ahead, and dodged a few blasts Wanda sent my way, while the sound of Natasha's batons clanked, along with Rhodey's blasters, but I kept my attention on Wanda and the flicks of her hands.

"Now!" Cap yelled.
In seconds Wanda dropped back down to the floor, and spread both hands in front of her. A large blanket of red magic pushed out and headed straight for Nat and I. The cloud of red, was to big to escape, so I braced myself, and blocked Nat from the blast. I almost closed my eyes as her magic hit me, expecting to be thrown to the side for Cap to get passed us, only that's not what happened.
I gritted my teeth, preparing for the pain, but none came. Her blast knocked me to my knees, and her magic tried to force me still, but I yelled, stood back up, and moved forward.
Wanda's eyes widened in surprise, and I heard a sharp gasp from behind me, but I continued my trek towards her, as my vision tunneled, and a blanket of black saturated my entire being. Everything from the past few days broke the surface, giving me strength, but my hands burned like they were on fire, as did the rest of my body.

"(Y/n)! Your eyes?" Steve gasped, but I wasn't paying attention to anything but Wanda.
She tried again, and again, but each time her magic hit me, it only stopped me for a few seconds. The heat of it was uncomfortable, and the smell of burning leaves burnt my nostrils, but it didn't stop me from taking out her feet, and knocking her to the ground. I pulled the baton from my back and threw it, hitting the prize fifteen yards away.
"We win," I whimpered, and tried to catch my breath. The room was quiet, and a shadow of cold rolled over legs and arms, while my knees collapsed down on the ground, "what's...what's happening to me?" I whispered and looked down at my hands, opening and closing them, "I'm burning.."
