"There're gonna be insufferable now, you know that, right?" Clint grumbled, when he noticed Stark didn't follow Fury out of the barn, and the light from the loft was now off, "and I'm beginning to think you may of been onto something when it comes to her..I didn't see all of it, but she scared the shit out of those twins..and that wasn't.." he paused and clutched Laura in his arms, "that wasn't our (y/n) who got up Tasha.."
He didn't mention the strange language that came through his comm, nor the way her eyes were lit up, because it momentarily scared the shit him, but whatever ability she had, saved the team from more danger, and the people in Johannesburg.
"I told you, and Steve told me enough about what happened, or what he could remember, but we kinda have our hands full at the moment, but she's scared, and whatever it is, it's getting stronger," Natasha digressed and looked towards the barn.
She may not have noticed it before, when she first met (y/n), but she did take into consideration how easy it was for (y/n) to draw her in, which surprised everyone, even Fury. Then as they got closer, and the years passed, well, she saw more, small things here and there, like the effect her moods had on the people around her, and the strange words she mumbled in her sleep. It didn't scare her like it did Clint, but she wanted to know what was going on, and hoped whatever was happening to one of her best friends, wasn't going to blow up in their faces. "And I wouldn't worry about her and Tony, they'll be a strong force on the field, and maybe, just maybe, he won't feel so alone in all this, neither will she. She's still pretty upset you didn't tell her about all this, but she understands," Natasha stated calmly, and followed the same route Fury took, inside.
Laura slid her arms around his waist and kissed his chest, "I told her you wanted to tell her, and were planning too, but you're worried?"
"Of course I am, you didn't see her when she left Stark the first time, sure, things seem different this time around, but.." he rebuked, ignoring the flash of guilt that he didn't tell her about Laura and the kids, "and after what happened in Africa..."
"Do you believe in her?" His wife asked, and focused her brown eyes on his.
"Yes, I do, she's one of the strongest people I've ever met, most loyal, but she's probably the most vulnerable too, I'm just.." he lamented, and layed his forehead down on hers, "we almost lost her once.."
"I know, and you fear for her?" His wife sighed, and looked down at her bulging belly as the baby kicked.
"Yes," he admitted, and touched her stomach, "I haven't known her as long as I've known Tasha, and she's important to me, but I don't know what this could mean for her, none of us do, she has a history Laura, one none of us understand, not really, and it's coming to light."
"You're so cute when you worry, but maybe you should give her some time, all of yourselves some time, because whatever she's experienced is still haunting her, and I was a little surprised to see her here, with your team, fighting, after what you said happened to her a year ago and with SHIELD," she murmured, "but people can always change sweetheart, you know that. It takes a lot to deal with all this, and from everything you've told me about her, along with spending a little time with her upstairs, she knows what's she's doing, and she has an air about her, it almost felt like I was standing next to something magical, and old. She's here fighting next to you, and your team, and neither of you should ask for anymore than that. I'm actually relieved to have someone like her fighting with you," she tried to explain, "besides she wouldn't be up there with Mr. Stark, if she didn't want to be," Laura shrugged, and led him back to the house, "you're such a dad sometimes..."
"So she pulled you in too?" Clint asked and kissed her cheek.
"Ten minutes, and I already love her," she replied happily.
"Where's Tony?" Steve asked, finally getting up from the kitchen table after he finished eating.
"Pfff, in loft with (y/n)," Clint retorted, and kissed Laura's forehead, leaning on her words of wisdom.
"Oh," Steve exclaimed, and sat back down, a little relieved, but worried about her nonetheless. He was hoping to talk to her, apologize for his brash reaction and words he threw at her earlier, knowing full well, she was suffering too. The tears on her face exacerbated her turmoil, making him feel worse, but he was too busy filtering through his own anger, and vision.
"Give them some time, and let's figure out what to do, after I've had some of Laura's spaghetti," Nick insisted, "and I see the kids."
