"I've said it before, but we really need to stop using sex as a coping mechanism," I scoffed, and kissed his bare chest.
"Pff, it works, so I don't see what choice we have," he snickered, and traced a finger over the wings on my back, "you've calmed down, and I don't know about you, but I feel better.."
I giggled, and rolled my eyes, but I didn't disagree with him, cause I did feel better. The bundle of information from Michael still bombarded by brain, and I was still teetering with the idea, but in my heart, I believed my grandmother, and that belief lifted some tension from my shoulders. I didn't know what this meant for me, or how I was supposed to move forward, knowing something old and magical flowed through my veins, but I firmly believed in Tony, and strangely Vision, when it came to making sense of all this.
Did I believe I was some descendant of an ancient goddess? I don't know, but something spoke to me in that room, besides my nanita, something old, and life affirming. Did I believe it was Coatlicue, I don't know, how could I know that for sure? The only thing I was sure of was my ability led back to the forests of Mexico, where my ancestor's ran from foreign invaders in order to protect what would become my family line. My nanita had traced our line for generations, and the intricate tree, I'd shared with Vision a few months ago, now made sense. I was the last in a long line of women, and it foisted even more responsibility onto my shoulders, but I already had the responsibility of saving the world, and I was more prepared than my mother and nanita.
I'd been through too much to fail, and I wasn't alone, like they were. I had my team, and a man who didn't seem to balk at the information shared. My future was here, and I would fight whatever came our way, because I had a reason to fight. It wasn't just because nanita told me it was what I was born for, it was more than that. My team was my family, Tony was my future, and they were worth fighting for.
"What're you thinking about?" He asked breaking my tirade of thoughts.
"I'm thinking about going and getting my bathing suit and jumping in the pool to cool off," I yawned, and sat up, "my skin feels like it's on fire."
"Well, you are a little darker, and probably sunburned, but if you wear that bikini, I'll join you," he laughed, and pecked my back, "but seriously, you're thinking about something pretty hard over there.."
I sighed, but sent him a quick smile, and slid off the bed, "let's go down to the pool first, and maybe we can talk about it, I'm seriously burrning up right now."
"Fine, fine, go get your suit, and I'll meet you downstairs, I gotta call the front desk and let them know we're going to use the pool, since it's after ten, and probably closed," he replied, and watched me get dressed.
"Did we really spend that much time in bed?" I gasped, and turned on my phone, noticing it was after eleven p.m.
"Yep, time flies when you're having fun," he snickered, and smacked my ass, "go, I'll meet you downstairs."
I nodded and hurriedly headed upstairs to Natasha's room to change.

"Are you alright?" Wanda asked as I walked in. She was sitting in the living room, watching TV, with snacks spread all over the place.
"I don't know, but we'll talk about all of this when we get back to Manhattan, right now, I just want to enjoy the rest of out time here," I whispered, and met her worried stare, "I'm going to stay with Tony tonight, I need too, but I'll be back in the morning, and we can do some last minute shopping, and go have lunch before we go home."
"That sounds nice, I need a good breakfast, and lots of water to flush all this alcohol out of my system," she sighed, and rubbed her eyes, "I've never drank, or seen this much sun before, in my life."
I snorted, and gave her a smile, "I know right, but no one told you to keep drinking," I giggled, "Red's such a bad influence.."
"I'm slowly realizing that," she laughed, and waved me away, "go relax, and I'll see you in the morning, Natasha's out, I think she went for a run, but I'll let her know you'll see her in the morning."
"Thanks Wanda.." I murmured and hurriedly changed into my suit, and grabbed my bags. She was asleep once I finally made my way back to Tony's room, and dropped off my bags, and headed downstairs to the pool. The night clerk sent me a broad smile as I walked by the desk, but I continued on my way till I saw Tony already in the pool with a drink in his hand.
The lights were low, and the air was still warm, but the patio was empty, and I sighed in relief.
