"Uh Tony, what the hell's this?" I asked after an early morning jog and a shower.
I held up the black credit card, I found on the nightstand, along with a rose, as I walked into his lab.
"It's called a credit card, you buy stuff with it," he answered quickly, while he worked on blueprints for a new suit.
"I know what it is jerk, I'm asking why do I have one, I already have my own card to buy what I need," I chided, and focused on the blueprints, spread out in front of him, "are you working on the beam powered by the reactor?" I asked, and leaned closer to him, "you need to increase the ability for your suit to hold a larger charge. It didn't quite work completely on some of the bots in Sokovia. It also didn't break up the city the way you expected or wanted, and you could of died with that much overload," I added, and nudged his shoulder.
"Uh, I'm actually working on that right now, but yes ma'am, and what's the big deal about the card, now you have more money, you're working for the Foundation and the Avengers," he mumbled distractedly, "just don't go buying up property or planes, and you should be okay."
I sighed, but quickly kissed his cheek, "good to know, and I can't make any promises, but I'll see you later, I have an unscheduled meeting with your foundation board, and I need to get some more training in at the facility," I stated, and headed for the door.
"Whoa whoa, are you feeling okay enough to do all that?" He waved his hand, but quickly turned back towards me before I opened to lab door, "you were pretty sick a few days ago and stressed out about everything?"
I snorted, "actually I feel fine, I slept better, and our late night conversation helped, alot," I answered, and gave him a smile, "I went for my run already, and had one of those disgusting protein shakes, like seriously they taste like shit, and grass, I almost downed a beer just to get the taste out of my mouth, in fact, I can still taste it. Are you against having a normal breakfast, you know some human food? Pancakes, eggs, bacon..instead of rabbit food?" I giggled once his eyebrows raised, and a smile stretched over his lips.
"Shit and grass?" He repeated, and burst with laughter, "they're not that bad, but I won't be able to drink them now, without thinking about what you just said.." He continued laughing, and shook his dark head, "shit and grass.."
"Well it's true," I giggled, and headed for the door.
"Whoa, wait," he called out, stopping me again, "since I forgot, and apparently you did too, tomorrow's Thankgiving. I didn't have time to plan anything, so I'm having food sent over to the facility. We can have dinner there, think of it as another team building exercise."
I snorted, "okay, but is it really Thanksgiving already, nu uh?" I admonished and glanced at the date on my phone, "oh my god! What the fuck! No one said anything! But that's a good idea to have dinner there, with everything going on lately it'll be nice to celebrate as a team..fuck.."
"Whoa whoa, relax, we've all been busy, but I let Cap and Romanoff know already, and assumed you'd want to spend it there, but we also have that little evening party for the so called elite, Friday night," he continued, and glanced back at his blueprints.
My gaze slid over the dark haired man leaning over his desk, and smiled. He was right, I wanted to spend the holiday with my friends and family, but the fact he knew that was heartwarming.
He quickly looked back up when I didn't answer, and caught me staring, "what?"
"Nothing," I shrugged and gave him a smile, "you do know they're your friends too right, regardless what you think or the show you put on..you care about them too.."
He raised his eyebrow, but a small smirk spread over his lips, "hey, just because you're finally mine doesn't mean you can go off spouting secrets," he stated gruffly, but smiled.
"Pfff, it's not a secret, and don't get cocky, but thanks for the card then, cause I'm using it to find something to wear," I replied quickly, not liking the idea that I needed to go shopping for a dress, nor being around cameras, but knew it needed to be done. Plus, I didn't want to make him uncomfortable with the turn in our conversation.
"It'll be our first party out together, but just trust me, it'll be okay, and if you're going shopping, maybe take Tasha with you. You guys seem to find some pretty good stuff when you're out together," he snickered, and focused back on his work.
"So a dress, panties and sex toys, got it, sounds doable," I sighed, and stepped through the open doors, "and I do trust you.."
"Good! And I liked the red ones!" He shouted before I stepped into the elevator.
