I yawn as I climb into the empty bunk above Mike's,"Dang. Who would have thought that writing a song could take so long."
Mike's voice cuts through the darkness,"It gets worse. Oh, and by the way, coffee will quickly become your best friend."
I roll onto my side and pull off Alex's hoodie, dropping it to the floor,"That's what I've heard."
Mike's voice goes soft,"You're thinking about Alex, aren't you?"
I smile,"Yeah. I remember how him and I met."
"How?"
My stepmother and I were at a party a few months ago, and I bumped into Aleksi at the snack bar. Iridescent was playing, and well.. It went from there."
"So, he's Russian?"
"Yeah. His father wanted a better life for Aleksi and his mother, so they packed up and moved to America about a year ago."
"His last name sounds familiar."
"Which one? Rostov? Or Rostovick?"
"Rostov."
"Customs and Immigration messed up the spelling."
"Oh. Okay. I'll let you get some sleep then."
"Thanks." I close my eyes, quickly falling asleep.
