Ashton- You covered one ear with your hand, and the other with your cell phone as you left what felt like the hundredth message on Ashton’s phone. “Hey babe, where are you?, I’m getting a little upset, I’ve been trying to reach you for a while now. So, uh, call me back, or better yet just come get me. Love you, bye”. You sighed putting the phone down. Of all the days he could have forgotten you, this one was the absolute worst. Today was the doctor’s appointment when you were going to find if you were pregnant. Granted, Ashton had no idea, but you had really wanted to proudly show him an ultrasound. So now, you had to sit in the lobby of the OB/GYN surrounded by every manner of pregnant woman. You held in your shaking hands a grainy black and white ultrasound. Two hours later, Ashton raced through the door and over to you. “Babe! Hey! How long have you been waiting?”, he said, apologetically. “Long enough”, you said, disgustedly, standing up, pushing the ultrasound into his chest, and walking away.
Calum- You and Calum had been dating almost a year. You knew that he loved you, but sometimes you felt like he just lost track of your feelings. Tonight was an anniversary of sorts- the two years that you and Calum had known each other. You were going to go out to dinner and then to the recording studio to do some duet work. The appointed time for him to pick you up had come and gone, but Calum was rarely on time- you didn’t really worry. To kill some time, you checked your Twitter feed. Suddenly, a tweet from Calum caught your eye: “@Calum5SOS: Hanging with my boys all night. Even booked the recording studio”. Hot tears began to pour down your cheeks, you couldn’t believe he had forgotten.
Luke- “Pick me up at 8!”, had been your last words to Luke before you hopped into your cab last night. This was going to be your first official date after months of flirting and eyeing at work. Finally, last night at a work function, Luke had asked you out at last. All that day you spent getting ready. You found a great outfit- a super hot dress that Luke had complimented before, and some insanely expensive shoes that you used this date as an excuse to buy. Your hair was gently curled, and your makeup was exactly how Luke liked it- nearly nonexistent. By 7:30, you were sitting at your kitchen table, eagerly waiting for Luke. The minutes inched on until it was eight o’clock. You began to lose hope from 8 to 9, and 9 to 10. You took off your makeup, put your hair up, and by 11 gave up hope entirely. You tried to go to bed but you just felt madder and madder. Around 3 a.m., a text from Luke rolled in: “Sorry love :( Rain check”. The rest of the night, you ranted and cried to your best friend over the phone.
Michael- Finally, you got ahold of Michael. “Hello?”, he questioned over the phone. “Hello??? That’s all that you have to say to me? HELLO???”. Michael was quiet for a moment. Suddenly, it seemed as though realization had dawned on him. “You’re at the airport, aren’t you”, he said apologetically, like he was puppy. “Well yeah, generally when someone is getting picked up by their boyfriend at the airport, THEY ARE AT THE AIRPORT!”, you screamed into the phone. Immediately the hurried apologies came rolling in. You hung up the payphone, and walked outside. You were hailing a cab, going to your mom’s house, and not seeing Michael for quite a long time.
