As our heroes approached Hamelin, they found the people hurrying out of the city as fast as they could!
"What's going on?" Martha asked in shocked, when a woman came barreling at Swaine with a broom.
"Get out of here! We have enough problems with the Emperor and Empress without some fake Prince coming along to bring trouble!" She tried to hit Swaine with the broom, but he jumped back, narrowly avoiding it as the Doctor stepped in front of him to block it.
"Ma'am, what's going on?" Oliver asked her.
"It's the Emperor and the Empress!" A man shouted, running over. "They've gone mad! They're tearing apart our city! They're trying to kill each other!"
"Oh no!" Esther gasped. "They must already be cursed from the manna!"
"Take my advice, and get lost!" The woman told them, and they ran away hurriedly, Oliver looking back towards the city, determined. He had to get in there as fast as possible, before something really bad happened.
DOCTOR WHO
"How are we going to find them? The city isn't exactly small." Swaine asked, crossing his arms as they wandered into the city. Everything seemed to be fine, except for one thing.
"It's so quiet." Martha whispered, almost afraid.
"Hamelin's usually so noisy." Esther murmured, looking around nervously. "Why is it so quiet?"
"You said this city is built from machines, yes?" The Doctor asked, earning a nod. "Well, it seems the machines have turned off."
"I have to get to the generator." Swaine told them, suddenly shaking. "If that's off for too long, that cuts off the oxygen flowing through the city. Without it, we're not surviving in here for very long, and neither are Marcassin and Harmony."
"But what would have turned off the generator?" Oliver asked, before they heard a loud boom! When they looked, they saw a part of building collapse, with a small figure flying above damage.
"You'll have to try harder than that if you want to hit me, Marcassin!" Oliver felt his heart sink as he heard that voice.
"That's Harmony!" Esther exclaimed.
"How's about you quit jumping around like a damn frog and fight back for once?!"
"Marcassin!" Swaine yelped.
"They're goin to tear each other to pieces, mun!" Drippy yelped, Oliver running over to the railing along the entrance balcony, watching in horror as Harmony blasted electrical attacks at Marcassin, Marcassin shielding himself, before shooting a wind attack back at her. They both had such hatred in their eyes as they glared at each other, Oliver feeling a cold shiver go down his back from their icy stares.
"We need to stop them!" Martha shouted, running over to the railing next to Oliver. "They'll kill each other!"
"We need to split up, make sure we can get to both of them at once!" The Doctor told them.
"I have to get to the generator!" Swaine argued. "If that's off for too long, we all die!"
"I can go and find Marcassin!" Esther told them, balling her hands into fists. "He'll need a familiar face to calm him down!"
