Indoor Date

I had an idea for what we could do. I asked Mai Lee and she said it was okay. She even gave me some money to go down to the shop and get what I needed. I hope Ryan likes this. It's not really his thing, but maybe he'll still have fun with it.

I told Ryan I was going shopping for Mai Lee, which was kind of true. The stuff I was getting would be sued by other people at some point, but for today I was getting it for Ryan and I. We were going to be baking.

I know I know not the best or most original idea, but I was on a tight time frame and had to do something. I thought baking because it's fun and good for bonding and all that mumbo jumbo they tell you in primary school.

Besides it's raining so I want to be outside for as little time as possible preferably. I know I'll be walking to the shop and stuff on my own but still. It will be fun to spend some normal time with Ryan indoors for a change. I just hope the others don't interrupt us or cause something. I just want to spend some home time with Ryan while I know I still can.

If I get fostered, Ryan and I and way more likely to be able to meet up outside and go out to places n dates than to do nice indoor things together. I guess it's weird, but it's the kind of thing that I know I'm going to miss. One of the many things.

I decided we should make muffins. Everybody loves muffins right? And it will take us most of the day, what with making them and then decorating them and everything. So we can make the most of it. Maybe Mai Lee will be able to keep the others out of the way. If I ask her nicely. I mean I am doing some shopping for her so she kind of owes me one.

Speaking of the shopping, I should be getting going. I don't want to keep Ryan waiting for me, and I have got myself all excited for chocolate muffins and now I want them like a lot. I took a quick trip to the office where Mai Lee gave me a short list and an envelope with some money in it. I'm just glad I'll be able to carry this all in one trip and won't have to awkwardly ask someone to help me.

I will have to walk though which is a bit of a pain considering the rain. I clambered round in the cupboard under the stairs until i found my coat. What i did not realise was that I haven't worn this coat for so long, it actually doesn't fit me properly any more. Great(!)

Well, I'm not cancelling, but I also don't want to get wet. I don't have the money for the bus so I had a different idea. I quickly ran upstairs to our room where Ryan was sat reading a magazine of some sort.

"Hey Ryan?" I asked as I poked my head around the door.

"Yeah?" he asked, looking up at me.

"Do you have a waterproof coat?"

"Oh no you aren't planning an outdoor date are you? Only I really can't be bothered to go out into the rain..."

"No nothing like that. Mai Lee just asked me to go get some shopping"

"Then why do I need my coat?"

"You don't. But mine doesn't fit me any more and she didn't give me enough money for the bus"

"Oh I see. Yes you can use my coat, it's somewhere in the cupboard under the stairs"

"Okay thanks Ryan" i said happily as I turned to go back downstairs.

"Oh and Marie?"

"Yes?" I asked, poking my head around the door again.

"Don't be too long" he smirked. I simply smiled in return before hurrying downstairs. thinking about it, I never knew if he was kidding or not. Maybe he did want me to be quick. Maybe he was really impatient.

As I was looking through the cupboard, I realised how lame this is going to be. It's our last day of freedom and I'm choosing to make us do something completely not special and something that young children do with their parents and at school all the time.
