It felt like a really long day.

I woke up a little earlier than normal and immediately continued reading up on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code material. I told you, I'm dedicated when I have to be.

I reached college early and met Kristen and Gurtley. I spoke to them for while until me lectures began.

Did I say lectures? It's a Thursday. I have only one lecture today. But it was a good one. We continued yesterday's Reconciliation topic for an hour.

Today we had our first placements meet at 2PM while it was only 12:30PM by the time I got done with my class. Since I had no one to hang out with, I found a place where I could charge my phone (I still haven't solved that issue yet) and continued my reading. I did that for about an hour after which I suddenly felt the urge to research on GMAT. Coincidentally, I also heard some SYs talking about GMAT and related exams so I naturally eavesdropped.

Then I had lunch with Kristen till 2PM and we both then went to the placement meet. We entered the room and I immediately noticed there were more people than necessary. But I guess everyone wants to keep their options open. Even I'm going to be attending the study abroad lectures even though placement is my first option.

They first made us fill a survey on which sector and companies we would like to work in. I had come in totally unprepared so I didn't immediately know what I'm going to write. But since they assured us that we will not be held bound to the companies we mentioned, I wrote down some companies that I think the others might have not written. I mean, if a person wants a Finance job, it's a given that they will try to call the big three. So wouldn't it be smarter to write some other companies so that they get us more companies? I have no idea how they are going to pull this off in less than 3 months but that's not my headache... for now.

Then they told us about this agreement that we will have to sign. It contained clauses that based our eligibility of application and priority list on our attendance which I'm okay with. I know my attendance record is great. I don't remember what the other clauses were but I know that I didn't have problems with any of them

The Dean came to talk to us for a bit. She gave us a bunch of scholarship applications to go through so that we get an idea of what kinds of people we're up against. And oh boy people have DONE stuff in life. I want to get a scholarship in life but with my current CV, I know for a fact that I will not get any. The Dean also made us rank a couple of values and then compared those to a report which stated how the corporates would rank the same values.

The Dean then went on to talk about a couple of sessions they're planning for us and unlike the past two-three years, they're charging us this time! I mean we already pay a bomb as college fees and now we need to shell out more? I think the college is falling short of funds now. This is because they seem to spend most of their budget on marketing.

We then learnt about making our own graphic personal portfolios. They sure look fancy but my dad had rubbished a Canva made CV before (which was fancy but much less fancy than what a personal portfolio is) so I don't know if this personal portfolio thing is going to work.

After the general meeting, they asked people to stay back if they wanted to be a part of the placement cell. I am probably taking quite a lot of things on my plate with the research paper, online course and normal studies but I mean, I want to apply for everything and I know I'll be able to opt out if I'm not able to handle it. Besides I feel more confident to work in the placement cell now than I did the last time (which was in Feb-March).

So the placement cell meet wasn't anything special. They just told us they want the placement cell to be a student driven committee. So we'll be incharge of communicating with the companies which would give us an advantage because the hirers will already be acquainted with us.

So here are the things I need to start and get done with:
-> 30 hours of online studies
-> Research Paper work (which might go on for a couple of months if I get selected)
-> Research on my career
-> Study/practice for my dual course
-> Placement work
-> Do some NGO work during the Diwali vacations

After the meeting, I tried to get my attendance and my NGO work certificate sorted but that didn't happen.

So I have been travelling by train for the past 5 years now so naturally I have come to recognise some familiar faces in terms of people of selling stuff on trains and also some eunuchs. There is this one eunuch who is extremely extra in life. She wears the most revealing saris, is way too touchy, always has this air of extraness and DOES NOT STOP SINGING. If you've travelled by trains in the past couple of years, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about.

So apparently she was gone for a couple of days and was back now. And I got to know this from a traveler! Damn, this person's actual making acquaintainces with the regular passengers and they even know about her whereabouts!
