"You've been staring at that book for the past hour. What could you possibly be thinking?" Ryuk asked as he laid down on the bed, taking a bite out of his apple. He was bored and usually Light was keeping him entertained by doing something but Light wasn't doing anything and it was getting annoying.
"I'm thinking." Light snapped, his hands linked under his chin.
"Thinking about what?"
"About if I should kill this guy or not. On one hand, he hasn't hurt anybody, on the other hand, he's dating my ex boyfriend and I'm not happy about that at all. Everyone knows [name] is mine and he's broken that rule."
"So just write his name down and get it over with. Than you can swoop in and comfort your lover and boom! Than we can do something more interesting."
Light ignored him and continued to stare down at the book. He wasn't happy about this new guy but he had to think carefully. If something did happen to the boy than [name] definitely wouldn't he happy and it would take weeks even months for him to move on. It seems this is a risk I have to take. He picked up the pen and wrote the name and pictured the face, smiling when it was done.
He closed the book and stood up with a stretch. "It's done. He'll be mine again. I don't care how long it has to take." Ryuk simply sighed in boredom.
The next day, [name] hadn't shown up to school and Light was heading to his house after school. He was a mess that's for sure. His eyes were red and his cheeks were stained with tears. Light couldn't believe he was this upset over a nothing boyfriend. He tried to hide his anger as he let [name] cry into his chest.
He would make [name] forget about that guy and he knew he could do it. "How about I take you out to your favourite restaurant and I'll buy you anything you want."
"I don't want to go anywhere." He mumbled back, wiping his nose with the sleeve of his shirt. "I just... I just want to stay here and... I don't know. I-I really liked him and now he's gone." He sobbed.
He wasn't even that great. What was there to like about him? You deserve so much better. You deserve me! Light kept all them thoughts in his mind as he ran his fingers through his hair comfortingly, hearing him sigh. "You'll get through this. I'll be here every step of the way. I promise, I will never leave you."
"Thank you Light, for being such a good friend. Even after we broke up you've always been there for me. I couldn't imagine being alone right now."
"It's okay." Light smirked. I'm going to be here. Forever. You'll never be able to get rid of me.
