He waited at the edge of the in rink, big smile on his face as he watched his boyfriend beautifully skate around the ice. It was coming to the end of training and Yuri skated over to the exit, making his way off the ice with his usual frown. "That was amazing!" [name] exclaimed positively.

"It could have been better." Yuri replied, walking past him to sit down and began to untie his skates.

"Any better and you'll be too good." The non skater sat down next to him and went quiet but he still had that positive smile on his face. He was always smiling. The opposite of his boyfriend. No one would think they would work together but they proved everyone wrong.

"No such thing as too good." The pair were joined when another couple, Victor and Yuuri, walked up to them. "Ugh. What are you doing here?" The blonde grumbled in annoyance.

"Don't be like that. Smile like your cheery boy." Victor exclaimed, leaning over and grabbing [name]'s cheek, squeezing it in between his fingers. Although it brought quite a bit of pain, [name] continued to smile, enjoying the attention he was receiving.

Yuri slapped the hand away harshly, eyes narrowing at the boys now red cheeks. "He doesn't like that." He huffed.

"Okay..." Yuuri grabbed Victor and pulled him back slightly, wanting to get away from the glare they were both receiving. "Maybe we should leave you two alone." He looked at Victor, trying to give a hint that they weren't wanted.

The only person who didn't want them there was Yuri, the other male on the other hand... "You don't have to anywhere. We like spending time with you, right Yuri?" He questioned.

"No. I don't like them." Yuri answered bluntly.

He's so funny, [name] is thought. He always thought Yuri was just teasing when he was being rude. "He could be a comedian." He said. He moved back and wrapped his arms around the blonde. "Don't you think?"

"Oh yeah. He's hilarious." Yuuri said, a fake smile on his face. [name] was always so oblivious. "I've got to go practice anyway. So..." He grabbed Victor's hand, the coach waving enthusiastically bye.

Yuri continued to huff and stuck his head up. "What's the matter with you, buttercup?"

There were only a select few who Yuri would let give him names like that and those select few consisted of [name] and only [name]. "I was in a good mood until they came over."

"You're not on a good mood? I thought being with me put you in a good mood?" [name] said. "Am I annoying you as well?"

"Of course not. Give me a few minutes and I'll be fine again." He would go from being completely snarky to only a little bit snarky. It was an improvement.

"Okay. Well, I'm going to go get some hot chips before we leave. I'll be back, you rest." The boy jumped up with a smile and walked away.

He reached the food stall that was situated just away from the ice rink and waited in line. He heard a few girls behind him start scoffing and when he turned around, they were pointing at him and whispering. They noticed him staring and raised their voices. "He so stupid. I don't even know why Yuri is with him."

"I know. Look at him. He's not even attractive."

"Did you see that interview he did where he kept stumbling over his words and couldn't even answer a question? He's so dumb." They continued to laugh and mock him, not caring about how he would react to the conversation.

The hot chips now gone from his mind, he walked away, shoulders slumped in sadness and the smile he had on all day dropping. He had always been called dumb. His parents had just said he was special and not to listen to anyone else. It was hard to do that when people would force him to listen. He wished he were smart, like Yuri. Maybe Yuri was laughing at him behind his back as well.

He made it back into the ice rink and over to his boyfriend, sitting down without saying another word. "What is the matter?" Yuri asked, sensing there was something wrong immediately. [name] tried to deny it, faking a smile and saying he was fine. "You are not fine. Don't lie to me." Yuri raised an eyebrow in warning.

With a loud sigh, the non ice skater opened up, "there... were these girls by the food stall. They were making fun of me. Calling me mean names and laughing. I-I don't know why people are so mean to me when they don't even know me. I-I know I'm not the smartest person but..." He brought his hand up to wipe at his now wet eyes. "Do you think I'm dumb to? Is that why I annoy you?"

Yuri's eyes were dark with rage as he listened to the story. The question at the end only angered him further. "The only thing that is annoying me is that those girls had the nerve to say something like that to you!" The blonde jumped up, clenching his fists. "They are the dumb ones! Calling people names like they're in pre school. Don't ever listen to people like that. You are bright and you're the most amazing person I have ever met. You have never annoyed me. You're the only one I can actually stand being around."

"You're just saying that to make me feel better."

"I don't lie. I'm brutally honest and I hurt peoples feelings. So you should know I'm telling the truth." Yuri put his hands on his shoulders. "Now, would you please direct me to where these girls are? They won't be talking anymore once I'm done with them."

[name] actually feared for the girls when he saw how angry he was. Than again, who was he to not do what his boyfriend wanted? So, he told them where they were and he watched as they were screamed at by someone they were fans of. As he watched, the smile that had been removed by those girls was brought straight back by the ice skater.

And just like that, my inspiration for writing has once again disappeared. This was hard to write because I kept getting stuck. I would leave and come back to it. It took me so long to finish. The last chapter was pre written. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter.
