Chapter 145: Both Lost Him, Teen Wolf
Word Count: 1062Scott sat in the police station. A blank look on his face. He couldn't show any emotion. If he did, it would all be let in and he wouldn't be able to control it. He had to hide.
At least until he got home where he could make as much of a commotion as he wanted.
His boyfriend. The love of his life was dead and he was completely empty inside. It was his fault. If he had just been that little bit closer, he could have stopped the sword going through [name]'s back. He saw the whole thing in such fine detail. Bile raised at the back of his throat, threatening to spill out onto the floor in front of him.
Memories of all the times they had spent together circled his mind and he couldn't stop the tears that started to pool, eventually sliding down his cheeks at a snail pace.
"I don't understand." [name] sighed as he looked down at the sheet. Confusion spreading across his features. "I suck at math. Why in the world do we need to learn math? I mean, it's not even that important."
Scott laughed at that. "I'm pretty sure it's one of the most important things you have learn." He smiled before pulling [name] across so he was now straddling him. "We could always do something else if you want to." The smirk on his face gave an idea of what that might be.
"You are such a bad influence."
"But you love it."
[name] nodded his head, leaning down and kissing him softly. "I love you."
"I love you to." Scott replied.
Sitting next to Scott in the police station was Lydia Martin. The strawberry blonde was frozen in place, her hands shaking at her side. She could hardly breath as she remembered what happened.
[name] was her ex boyfriend. They had been together and Lydia had been in love with him.
That was until he left her to be with Scott. She couldn't say she wasn't heart broken and that she hadn't tried to hate him. She had acted like she did. She acted like she wanted nothing to do with him. He had tried to be friends with her again but she wouldn't let him in.
Now he was dead and she begged whoever was listening that she could go back in time and forgive him for breaking her heart. After all, he was just following his.
"Is there something wrong?" Lydia asked him when she noticed the distant look in his eyes. He had been acting like this for a while now and she was worried.
[name] looked at her, a frown on his lips and his eyes dark. "There actually has been something on my mind... but I'm really scared to tell you. I don't want you to hate me."
Lydia sat up, grabbing his hand in comfort. "I could never hate you. I love you." She said, using her other hand to run through his hair. "You can tell me anything."
He nodded his head and sat up as well, his hands shaking from how nervous he was. "Just... promise me you won't look at me any different after I tell you."
She gave him a look.
"Please just promise. I need to hear you say that I won't lose you."
"I promise nothing you can say will make you lose me and I'm not going to look at you any different." She promised and she meant it.
He took a few seconds to collect his thoughts and how he was going to stay what he wanted. "I've always had these feelings. I don't know... I always thought I could just ignore it and it was a phase, but I can't ignore it anymore."
Lydia kept silent, letting him tell his story at his pace.
"I think I'm, um, I think I'm bisexual." He finally admitted, squeezing his eyes shut.
She looked at him surprised. She hadn't been expecting that. She used her hand to caress his cheek, causing him to reopen his eyes. She smiled at him softly. "I can't believe you would ever think I would look at you differently because of that."
"I'm sorry. Your the only one I've told about this."
"I'm really happy you trusted me another to tell me." She kissed him gently. "I honestly thought you were going to tell me you killed someone from the way you were acting."
He laughed. "And yet you still promised to not judge me. That's really sweet."
"If you had killed someone, there must be a good reason." She shrugged.
"Well, thanks for the confidence." He said, kissing her again. "How did I end up with a girlfriend as amazing as you?" He questioned, looking at her with love in his eyes.
"I have low standards." She joked.
She had thought this was the guy she would spend the rest of her life with. He was who she was going to get married to and have babies with.
Unfortunately for her, only a couple months after that he dumped her, professing his love for Scott.
She remembered throwing her drink in his face and crying for days after. She couldn't look at either of them without glaring at them.
"I can't believe he is gone." Scott mumbled, not realising he said that out loud until Lydia sighed and turned to him.
"I'm gonna miss him so much. I wish... I wish I had a second chance to make things right with him... before I lost him." She paused. "Before we both lost him."
Scott finally let a sob leave his lips. He would do anything to get [name] back. He couldn't be dead. He couldn't be gone forever. "He's the love of my life. I'll never be able to move on from him. I don't want to."
Lydia hugged him. "We have to be strong... for him. You know he would get upset if he saw us crying."
Scott nodded. "He never was good with handling emotions." He laughed. "He'd always freak out when I got upset."
"Me too."
They didn't move for who knows how long after that. They say there in the police station talking about memories they each had with the boy they both lost.
