Nico sighed with a frown on his face. Life really wasn't fair sometimes. Why was he stuck with loving a guy who liked someone else? He stared across the yard at [name] and Percy laughing and hugging each other. They looked like the perfect happy couple and Nico had a feeling that they were dating but keeping it a secret.
That's why Nico had been staying away from him. It just hurt to much. [name] had been trying to talk to him but he would always come up with an excuse to avoid him. He thought he was doing a good job to, [name] was to wrapped up in Percy to notice. Nico scoffed bitterly at the thought. Of course he liked Percy. Everybody liked Percy.
He looked himself up and down and wondered what was so wrong with him. What Percy had that he didn't. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, continuing to stare at them. Oh, how he wanted to just go over there and kiss [name] in front of everyone. To show everyone that the beautiful boy was taken by none other than Nico himself.
"Hey, Nico!" [name] finally spotted him, turning to say goodbye to Percy before walking away from him and towards his best friends. "I've been looking for you..." He trailed off as Nico started speed walking away. "Hey! Where are you going?" Nico ignored him and continued to pettily ignore him, grumbling under his breath. Though [name] wasn't going to let him get away that easy and grabbed his arm to stop him. "Didn't you hear me calling you?"
"Nope." Nico lied, not caring that he didn't sound convincing at all. "Shouldn't you be hanging out with Percy?" He asked bitterly. "Don't want to be away from him for to long."
"Dude, what are you going on about? I was just with him, if I wanted to hang out with him, I would've stayed but I came over here because I wanted to hang out with you." [name] frowned before pouted, leaning forward to wrap his arms around Nico and pull him closer. "There's no need to be jealous. You'll always be my best friend."
Nico scoffed, "yeah. I know but since you and Percy are dating you want to hang out with him all the time and it's so obvious. You never want to spend time with me anymore. Does Percy not want us hanging out together or something?"
"Wait, wait, wait. Slow down. You're confusing the heck out of me. Did you say me and Percy are dating?" [name] laughed, a snort coming out of his nose that he had always been embarrassed about but Nico thought it was adorable. "Me and Percy aren't dating. You know he's with Annabeth right? And even if he wasn't, we wouldn't date. He's like my brother, so ew."
Nico rolled his eyes, "you don't need to lie to me. If you want to keep it a secret, than that's fine but don't lie to me about it. I'm supposed to be your best friend so you should always tell me the truth." A little hypercritical since Nico had been lying about his feelings for a long time now. He removed [name]'s arms from around him, instantly missing the warmth before moving to leave again.
