He didn't know what to do. On one hand he really liked Louis, on the other hand, Louis had a girlfriend who was also [name]'s best friend. He had liked Louis for so long, even before he and Megan started dating and Megan had known.
He would be lying if he said he didn't feel betrayed with what she did. He was always talking about Louis and how much he loved him so when he had walked into her room one day to see her and Louis together, his heart had been ripped out of his chest.
They had been best friends since they were kids and he didn't want to lose that over a guy. He ignored how he felt and congratulated them, though in the back of his mind, he hoped they would eventually break up.
A lot had happened since then. They hadn't broken up but Louis had found out how he felt and was now talking about breaking up with Megan. "I like you and you like me, so why are you making this so complicated? Just tell me you want me to break up with her!"
"I can't! Because that makes me the worst friend in the world, even worse than what she did to me."
"It doesn't even matter because I'm going to break up with her anyway. I'm not going to waste this chance to be with you now that I know how you feel."
"Louis... Megan will hate me if we start dating. She's my best friend." He spoke slowly. "You have no idea how badly I want to be selfish and be with you, to not care how she would react but I'm not like that."
"But she did the same thing to you! She told me you didn't like me, that's the only reason I started dating her in the first place because I thought I had no chance with you! If it wasn't for her, we would've been together all this time." Louis walked up to him, placing his hands on his cheeks. "I'm not going to give up."
"I don't want you to. As selfish as that sounds." He wrapped his arms around Louis and pulled him into a tight hug. "Just give me some time, to talk to her. I know she hurt me but I don't want to hurt her as well."
"And what if she's never okay with us being together? Are you really going to let her decide who you can and can't be with?"
"No... I'm not." He said confidently. "If she's not okay with it... than I'll just have to cross that bridge when I come to it."
"Fine but can I at least stay here with you for now?" Louis gripped onto him. "Can we just pretend she doesn't exist for one night and just be with each other?"
"Yeah... yeah, I'd like that."
