Chapter 139: Your Girlfriend Sucks, Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Word Count: 1210Buffy Summers never really hated anyone but she sure as hell hated this girl. The new girlfriend of her ex boyfriend, [name]. Caroline. She was the most annoying, bitchy girl Buffy had ever met and she wasn't certainly not just saying that because she was dating her ex.
Buffy and [name] had remained friends after they broke up but Buffy had never lost her feelings for him. She wished they had never broken up in the first place. She never should have agreed to just being friends with him.
"Uh, Buffy?" Willow said, trying to get her best friends attention when she saw her staring at [name] and Caroline with a dangerous glare, her hand gripping the pencil in her hand tight. "You might want to ease up on the glare. You look like you want to kill her."
"Maybe I do." She responded. Thinking over what she just said, she grimaced at herself. "I didn't mean that. She... she just sucks."
"Everybody knows you don't like her but she does make him happy." Willow was both Buffy and [name]'s friend and she couldn't exactly be on Buffy's side about breaking them up when she knew how much he liked Caroline.
"I'm so much better for him. We were made for each other." Buffy whined, sliding down and resting her forehead on the table, not able to look at the couple anymore.
Willow gave her a short pat on the back.
What they didn't know was that over at the couples table, Caroline was getting ready to break up with the boy, not thinking they were working out well together. She didn't want to lead him on anymore and it was better to rip the band aid off quickly.
"Look, I am so sorry... I don't want to hurt you but I don't think we should be together anymore."
[name] felt his heart drop. "Y-You're not serious, right?" She looked away from him and any hope that she was joking went straight out the window. "But everything was going so well. What did I do wrong?"
"You didn't do anything wrong!" She said quickly. "I just think we would be better off friends."
"Better off friends?" He repeated in annoyance. "You're the second girl that has said that to me. I don't want another friend, I want a girlfriend. Is there anything I can do to change your mind?" He grabbed her hand, hoping she felt at least something for him.
She pulled her hand back awkwardly, grabbing her bag and standing up. "No, I'm sorry." And she walked away, leaving the upset boy alone at the table, drowning in thoughts about what was wrong with him.
He stood up, feeling numb and walked over to his friends, slumping in his seat with a frown. "I just got dumped." He said bluntly.
Willow and Buffy shared a quick look.
