Lucas Scott was insanely protective over his best friend, Haley. Everybody knew that. That's why when he found out there was something going between her and Nathan, he knew he had to have a talk with his brother and made sure he had the right intentions.

He was waiting outside the locker room, his hair dripping wet from just having a shower. They had just when their basketball game so moods were high and he watched as his teammates passed by him, high fiving each other.

He didn't give them two looks and crossed his arms. Nathan was still in there and his patience was started to waver.

He didn't know how he felt about them being together. On one hand, he wasn't to fond of his brother and would rather keep a good distance between them, on the other hand if he made Haley happy, there didn't want to be the one to stand in the way of that.

The door finally opened and Nathan came walking with a relaxed smile on his face. He was also in a good mood from winning the game.

"I need to talk to you." Lucas said immediately.

Nathan jumped slightly, having not expecting for Lucas to just be waiting for him. "What do you want?" He asked, his smile and mood dropping. He just wanted to leave, not talk to his annoying brother.

"I know what's going on between you and Haley and I need to tell you that-"

"What's going on between me and Haley?" Nathan crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes.

"Don't treat me like an idiot. Anyone could figure it out. You're seeing each other. Don't try to deny it." Lucas held up his hand when Nathan tried to talk. "I just want to say that if you hurt her or you're just doing this to get to me, I will make you regret it."

"Will you?" Nathan scoffed.

Lucas nodded, "yes, you will. Haley is amazing and my best friend. She deserves the best and if you aren't going to give that to her, then don't be cruel and have her fall for you more."

Nathan was getting more impatient, not believing how he was related to someone as dumb as Lucas. "Are you done yet?" He questioned.

"You're not even taking this seriously. How am I supposed to believe your feelings for her are real? Just tell me you won't hurt her and mean it." Lucas said in determination.

Nathan sighed and brought his hand up to hold his forehead. "Would you shut up? I'm done listening to your dumbass. I don't have to explain anything to you."

"There. You just proved that you don't deserve her if you can't do something as simple as ease my worries-"

"Holy crap! I'm not dating her! She's my tutor you absolute idiot!" Nathan snapped, clenching his fists. "I am dating someone but it isn't her."

Lucas stayed still for a moment, not knowing if he believed him or not. "If it's not Haley then who? Wait... you're not back with Peyton are you?" What was worse then Nathan dating his best friend? It was Nathan dating the girl he was in love with.

"I'm not dating Peyton." Nathan spoke through clenched teeth.

Lucas opened his mouth to grill him again when another voice cut him off, "Nathan? What's taking you so long? I've been waiting in the car for ever and I'm bored."

He turned around, spotting a male walking up to them. "Sorry, that was my fault. I was just talking to him about something." He didn't recognise this guy from school. "I'm Lucas. I haven't seen you around here before."

The male shook his hand with a sweet smile. "Oh, I'm [name]. I don't go here. I go to the school next town over but I'm staying at Nathan's for a couple days. Speaking of," he walked past Lucas and wrapped his arms around Nathan's waist, leaning over to kiss his lips, "you were great tonight."

Lucas propped his mouth open in shock. His brother was kissing someone... his brother was kissing another guy... his brother had a boyfriend?

"I know." Nathan said cockily, feeling giddy by being wrapped up in his boyfriends arms. "Sorry for taking so long. We can go now. He doesn't have anything else he needs to say."

"Wait! You can't just leave without explaining," Lucas gestured between them, "this."

[name] looked between him and Nathan confused, "explain what? That I'm kissing my boyfriend? Please don't tell me you're homophobic because I'm not in the mood to get into a fight tonight."

"Oh no, no, no." Lucas waved his hands frantically back and forth. He did not want to get into a fight with this guy. His glare was pretty intimidating. "I just, I had no idea Nathan had a boyfriend. I thought he was the straightest guy around." Lucas turned to his brother. "Does Dan know?"

Nathan answered, "yes."

"And he doesn't care?" Lucas asked.

"To be honest, I don't care what he thinks but he lets [name] stay over whenever he wants so I don't think he cares. All he cares about is if I win basketball games, not if I suck dick."

Lucas widened his eyes and covered his ears, "don't put images like that in my head! What is wrong with you?"

"Did you say your name was Lucas?" [name] asked and Lucas nodded. His eyes widened in realisation, "oh! You're Nathan's brother. I was wondering when I was going to meet you by Nathan always said you weren't special enough for a formal meeting."

"Thanks, Nathan." Lucas said offended.

Nathan shrugged his shoulders. It was true. "Anyway, you've kept us here long enough. You know I'm not with Haley or Peyton. You've found out I'm dating a dude and have met him. Leave us alone."

He grabbed his boyfriends hand and pulled him away from his brother was still had a million questions he wanted to ask.

"He doesn't seem as bad as you made him out to be." [name] commented when they exited the school and made their way towards his car.

"You weren't there a couple minutes earlier when he was threatening me about some girl who I don't even like." Nathan pouted, grabbing [name]'s hand and pulled him closer. "One way to ensure no sex is giving Lucas compliments."

"Okay, no more talk of Lucas. Got it." They stopped by the side of the car. "Does that mean we can have sex tonight?" He asked hopefully.

"You really think I'm going to say no to that?"
